Hi..

At last just managed to squeeze some time to test out my new recording set up. I have now moved away from all Line 6 products. Had enough with digital emulation.

This is a test recording using a miced up Blackstar HT5 head with the HT110 cabinet. Microphone SM57.

Guitar - Godin Redline HB
Bass - Squier Jazz Bass (recorded direct)

First impressions are that the sound is 'breathing' and is easy on the ears than anything I have ever recorded before. There is no post EQing or anything at all. I mixed this 'as is'.

Tell me what you guys think?

Hi again.

Here is a second test. ON VIDEO!!

Arrow http://youtu.be/7BQzoE36-e0

On this one I am trying out the HT5's overdrive channel. It was a bit tricky finding the sweet spot with the microphone, but I found it in the end.

I found out from Ola Englund from the band Feared that using the Maxon OD808 pedal as a clean boost in front of the amp actually tightens the sound of the overdriven sound... true enough it did sound tight although it was a little noisy if I didn't play anything.

I need to get a noisegate at some point.

Anyone else out there looking to get that chunky metal tone - any questions are welcome...I'll try my best to help out. Smile

R.

Makasiiihh Smile Siap tabik metronome lagi tu hahaha... Anyway tu sound yang takde post processing langsung. Pada aku kurang 'bite' sound dia. Aku rasa kureng sikit pada upper mid frequencies...

Tapi itu small matter - boleh adjust in post production hehe.. Video ni saje je nak tunjuk kemampuan amplifier chomel ni..

I am happy Very Happy
