kengkadang je masuk forum tu. actually, a lot of my friends yang dengar butterfingers (including my band members) and kinda influence by them. now i'm on a solo mission to influence them to play the blues and progressive rock or even jazz. that's kinduff a challenge wouldnt you say? to change your band style of playing, influence and all.

yep the realm of jazz/blues bagi aku lagi mencabar..tu pasal aku nak belajar..kat sini guitar One magazine ada special 'jazz for rock guitarist - play jazz in 7 days' edition w lessons from alex skcolnick(sp?) guitarist testament yg dah convert pada agama jazz hehehe....pastu ada ajar2 juga la how to improvise on coltrane's changes , comping etc .aku tak baca lagi tapi dah beli dua tiga hari dah...

oh satu lagi..hari tu aku celebrate bday kawan kat club passion over at jalan ramlee..pastu ada this jazz band main lagu2 but the guitarist is damn good wei..aku tgk dia goreng rasa naik bulu roma...he obviously can take on any shredder any time tapi main stok rilek je...gile jeles...i guess when you go to music school mesti la tere kan main2 all this stuff...tapi kesian kat msia these kinda of talents tak pegi jauh setakat main club2 je...cos jazz is not that mainstream compared to the states etc...oh well...

omar, aku recommend ko cari video instruction joe pass kalau nak belajar jazz. he's methods are simple, easily understood and practical. he won't make your head go haywire with jazz musical theory whatsoever.
