Noticed loads of cover songs uploaded here.

I'm all for free expression and creative re-interpretation of existing artistic works, but sooner or later some ass-kissing smartass from our pathetic music industry is going to hook on to this and possibly create legal issues for the site administrator(s).

What's your present stand on this?

yeah it definitely will!

but at the moment, this site, the band & the artists, ain't selling anything. It's not like people are going to go crazy downloading covers from here and causing the downfall of the industry.

but it is definitely an issue. Something that we should look into futhur to avoid unneccesary complications in the future.

but when those people come.. not only covers should be taken out, signed bands also have to be booted out. especially if they're MACP & RIM members.

as long as we're not a threat to their business.. I think they'll just ignore us.

Recording covers is not an offence. Passing it off as an original work and profiting from it is. As long as the proper publishing credit is given (look inside any album sleeve - songwriter/publishing company et. al).
