mengikut pemahaman aku (yg tak boleh dipercayai sangat) EP = Extended Play... kalau kat dunia mainstream dia sama mcm "Single" la kot.. sama konsep mcm "Mini-LP"... LP pulak = Long Play (ye ke? heheh)... yg nih semua (sepatutnya) professional release...
"Demo" tuh biasa nya self-produce, DIY product, record pakai radio cap ayam pon boleh dikira sebagai demo.. ada yg cuba confius kan org dgn bagi label 'rehearsal tape'.. kira demo jugak la tuh!
Yg aku heran, kenapa demo Crimson Fall aku tuh org label sbg EP, padahal terang2 tajuk kat cd tu "Demo 2001"... hehehe

Ada satu thread, think ADam punye kot that discussed the terms. Hari tu aku sruf kat net sebab aku tak paham juga..well, i found this: -
Secara tradisional nye..
- Single - 1 to 3 songs
- EP(extended play) = 4 - 6 songs
- LP (album) = 7 songs above
Lepas tu dia cakap, in the end, it all depends on marketing ploys and thats where it gets confusing, where 6 songs can be marketed as an album, or mini-LP..or a single as an EP...blah blah blah. Lebih kurang la tu. |
