Ok...as somebody who has all the Van Halen albums in several formats, read ALL his interviews in ALL magazines from 1978 to the present day and who literally breathed on VH's guitar playing since the last 21 years...

...you didn't offend me dude! Smile

BUT, you offended me as a Michael Jackson fan!!! Twisted Evil
Lepas solo tu, aku dah ready nak buat 'moonwalk', tiba2 lagu abis terus takder vocals...alaaa...ok...just kidding Smile

Ok seriously...since you're good and have an incredible potential, I'm gonna be a bit hard on you in order to for you to fully realise your full potential .

The solo is good, but not as good as 'Failed Attempt'. The trouble about trying to play a solo as closely to the classic original version is that you're put in direct comparison with the original. To me what is lacking is the conviction during bends and vibrato...sounds like you don't really mean it( and EVH is one of the kings of bends/vibrato)...and the biggest let down was the fact that you slide to the last note rather than bend it up and sustain with a vibrato...which was supposed to be the climactic part of the solo. Probably it would have been a better idea for you to play the solo 'Min's' style rather than copying Eddie, because you're an extremely capable soloist.

Eddie's solos are not anywhere as complex as the other shredders, but it's easier to copy other people's solos rather than his. Lots of people think that if you tap, than you can copy Eddie, but to be frank, what made him special and unique was actually his 'feel' and attitude in playing, and a lot of people missed that point. The tapping is just icing on the cake. I have yet to see anybody in the world who can come close to his 'feel'...probably Greg Howe matched that reckless abandon vibe in the first 'Howe II' album.
There are already lots of Yngwie/Petrucci clones out there, but still since 1978, I have yet to see an Eddie clone...(maybe there are, but definitely not as many).

Eddie once quoted in an interview back in the early 80's, "Even if I don't do the tapping thing, I would still be a guitar hero..."

Spot on!

Anyway Min, it's about time you come out as yourself in your own name. It's too much of a waste to put your great talents under the name of 'Paul Gilbert'. And you might end up with legal problems as well. Your song is already on BODE'S BAND BOX RADIO and the radio do have overseas listeners, and that name can create problems. Be proud of your self man...and get out there as your self Smile

that was a good comment.....and since you r a van halen fanatic i couldnt argue with you because you know more about him than i do...and what you r saying is rather true....i know im putting mysielf in comparison...but i just want to try it out and see how it goes....

ok...actually i really didnt bend that much....not an excuse but i was using my Ibanez RG which has rusty strings because all this while i am only using my PGM...i was too lazy to change the strings...kwkewkekwke....and yeah i didnt dare to bend the last part...takut snap pulak tali...but yeah...its no excuse really...the playing was horrible....

now the part about my nick...PaulGilbert....actually i thought of changing it but i didnt know how...except to register another one....lazy lak...

my song on Bode Band Box?? oh no....that was a terrible song....too many mistakes which was too obvious....alamak....malunyer...takper la....kwekwkewkek...nasib org tak kenal....

btw aku baru jer balik dari kl...
