First i-bands.net MP3 compilation
Hey people, we're putting together a CD compilation of original songs. All you need to do to be considered for inclusion is send us two original songs in MP3 format (160-192kb/s).
Make sure the sound is as good as you can make it with whatever crappy gear (just kidding!) you have, and
send your submissions to ibands@gmail.com by August 31, 2005. (extended to September 10, 2005 by popular demand!)
But before you do that, there're some simple rules and regulations to follow:
 1. All submissions must be full songs (no clips, no gear-test snippets, no studio rehearsals and definitely no bathroom sessions, though good-sounding live recordings wll be considered).
2. Each artist/band can only submit two songs. Ideally, each song should be three to four minutes long.
3. All material submitted has to be entirely original. Use of minus-one backing tracks is strictly prohibited. If we find anything fishy about your songs, we might ask you to prove that you really wrote or played them!
4. The audio quality has to be of an acceptable level. But we'll bend the rules a bit for punk and lo-fi rock.
5. Signed artists and company-copyrighted/published original songs will not be accepted.
6. As there's no payment for the songs, all artists/bands whose songs have been selected will have to sign a release form stating that they agree to the no-payment clause and other legally binding terms and conditions set by the i-bands team.
7. All artists who submit songs are expected to respect the decision of the selecting panel and not create unnnecessary fuss if their submissions are not included.
8. While artists/bands are free to make copies of the compilation for friends and fans, they're strongly discouraged to sell and make a profit from it. Those found to have abused their privileges as compilation participants will be banned from i-bands.net.
The finished product will be sold at RM15 with all proceeds going to i-bands for site upkeep and to fund future i-bands activities like gigs and workshops.
Each artist/band featured is entitled to two complimentary copies of the compilation.

azwi.. tayah zip. just attach terus saja kalau boleh. compression on compression wouldn't do any much difference. (selalunya takde beza langsung  )
but if ada limitation on your email provider yg tak allow mp3 attachment, then..yeah.. zip it. actually renaming the extension pun boleh. but have to let us know in the email.
info needed, buat sementara ni,
nama band,
song title,
kalau nak serta kan band bio ka gambar ka,
boleh jugak.

128kb/s should generally be acceptable. But 160-192kb/s conversion usually opens up the frequency range in a noticeable way. Also, it'd be easier to send the MP3 straight to ibands@gmail.com as an email attachment.

waaa.. lama aku x join, bukak2 jer ada topik compilation. Dasat la. Agak2 lagu aku pass sirim x utk compilation nih? Tapi aku rasa byk lg kot org lain yg lagi layak.. ahaha
Bopa volume cd comp ni? Byk talent bagus2 kat i-bands ni, siap leh antar 2 lagu tu! Encylopedia pun kalah camni!

Yes, 4-5 minute songs will also be considered, though 3-4 minutes is the ideal length. Closing date is Merdeka Day (Aug. 31).

Yes, you can submit 128kb/s MP3s, but 160/192kb/s files usually almost approach CD-quality sound.
You don't have to zip the files. Just send them as attachments to ibands@gmail.com
Include your band/artist name, song title, band/artist photo and your i-bands link.

Anyone with an i-bands account can send songs, but they must fulfil the conditions stated in the Rules & Regulations list. Don't worry about how good or bad you sound, just send in your MP3s! We promise to be fair to all & sundry.

Like we stated before, the idea behind the compilation is to MAKE YOU FAMOUS! Entries are coming in fast so don't wait till the last minute. Send now!
Some other points:
+ Send only your MP3s & band info/photo to ibands@gmail.com . No email enquiries please! If you're unsure about something, post your question in this thread.
+ Please don't send us links to your MP3s. We don't want to end up with the wrong songs! You choose the songs you feel represent your best effort and send the files as email attachments.
+ We'd appreciate it if you could send each file as a separate attachment/email. It'll make it easier for us to keep track of the submissions.
+ Because gmail doesn't have an automated reply facility at the moment, we can't acknowledge every entry received. Sorry!
+ The final selection should be announced here by late September.
So what're you waiting for? Go make some music and send it to us!
