agree with both izzi and fazrul... the key to the best sound and tone is in the ear, and by doing loads of experiment urslef, even a simple efex could blow u away.. it' really in your head..

deadzid got his own point.. as a lame + broke 'musician' like me, a multi efx seems to do the trick.. portabality issues n etc etc.. nak gigging pun x pyh pening2 kepala.. aku masuk botb masa kt utm tu berbekalkan zoom 505 II je.. tp to my suprise, some of the judges send me a two thumbs up for the nice guitar tone.. Wink

still, byk sungguh informasi yg aku dapat.. mainly about those harmonized pitch shifter thingy, drive n mcm2 la.. Very Happy

tp, biasala manusia, nmpk bender lg best, teruja.. hehe.. mcm aku.. nmpk G series tros meleleh... nmpk pod pun meleleh tp yg nak pakai cuma delay, reverb, kdg2 flanger.. chorus pun x brp kenal lg.. Laughing

got my point here?

POD 2.0 dalam RM800.. tp setau aku offer kat Ck, POD 2.0 + Floorboard = RM1250 ke Rm1450 ke.. aku dah tak ingat.. tp masa aku nyaris2 beli hari tu mmg gitulah harganya.. tp sekarng aku dengar lagi murah..
Fazrul beli POD 2.0 Rm600.. tp kalau siap floorboard mau seribu jugak tu..

cheh.. terkejut gak aku POD boleh dpt RM650.. special offer rupanya... sbb last time aku check about rm900..

then, footswitch RM280 tu takde expression pedal? oh my Rolling Eyes

.. just 4 switch utk tukar channel je? floorboard yg ada expression pedal kalau tak silap almost RM1000 kan? but still, the issue of patch change delay time masih tak selesai lagi, kan?

then add in another RM550 utk Boss Super Shifter... lets see... hmm.. beli PODxt Live je la terus bang! hahaha... Very Happy

tu la aku cakap, dari beli Super Shifter tu, baik beli G2.1u je.. mcm2 efx ada... siap boleh control modulation rate, gain, volume, etc pakai expression pedal dia.

gini la.. kesimpulannya, kalau nak dapat yg terrbaik antara kedua2 nya, GET BOTH! pakai POD utk drive module, the Zoom as efx (modulation, reverb, etc) Laughing

- yes, i did a recording with my Vox Wah.. then played the same tune on the G2.1u, the result ain't the same. but so far i've been jamming with the Vox Wah setting on the G2, it serves me quite well... Wink

Btw, can the G2.1u give out the Dunlop Crybaby Classic (with Fasel Inductor) sound? If yes, then it's really a great buy.
- G2.1u offers the Crybaby wah simulator option, but i don't think they go into that detail (that fasel inductor thingy...) Smile

Anyways, I'm going over to California, US this month to check out what they have there. Heard that there's this shop called Sam Ash who carries lots of cool gadgets and guitars. Will check out Wal-mart and the pawn shops while I'm there also (if I have time to spare... cause going to Las Vegas as well)...
- whoaa.. u got money to go to the US, but you don't have a decent budget to buy better gear??? man, cancel your trip, use that money to buy a PODxt Live or Boss GT8!! Twisted Evil

unless you're going with your parent or something..

Oh ya... Got 2 more important questions for GFX8
a) Reverb fx good? - can get the BOSS RV-5 sound?
b) Delay fx good? - can get the BOSS DD-6 sound?
- not sure... haven't tried those expensive Boss pedals yet.. but the delay mode on any multiefx is quite okay to my ears..

I'm going to the US cause a chance in a lifetime - sebab kawan aku punya bapa dan mak kerja kat situ tahun ini. Mereka akan balik ke Malaysia tahun depan. Jadi, trip ini sudah lama planned... saya sudah jimat duit untuk trip ini few months agoh...

I bukan rich guy skrang tapi kalau ada chance pergi US, I pergi aja. Tempat tinggal and transport di US pun no problem. I tak pergi dengan parents... I hanya pergi dengan kawanku.

Kena guna duit sendiri untuk bayar air ticket, local tour (e.g. disneyland, las vegas, universal studio ...), jadi selepas balik dari trip ini... kena start jimat lagi...

i wouldnt argue bout the patch change delay, thats the POD's cons. TBH, aku pun x brapa suka dgn delay tuh, kacau ar Laughing

well yeah, alang2, go for PODxt trus, tapi x silap aku xt's xder picth shifter ar, x ingat.... aper2 pun, hope jtangsw dapat buat keputusan yg terbaik drp perbincangan kita. good luck! Cool
