Hey Eric,
Dont forget to ground the shielding Very Happy or else where are the trapped static gonna go?? Very Happy

Anyhow, for those who dont have the skill to do the beautiful work ultraman did.. or dont wanna lose the valuable-60 cycle hum tone with a humbcuker or noise reducers.. John Suhr Has this REALLy cool back plate cover that can reduce the HUMS!!!! i've got a shur custom strat ... NO HUMS on all 5 positions no joke!! check it out at Joth Shur's website. its been awareded couple of awards for that design. IMHO the tyler ones dont work that well...
just an opinion.

other wise, you can just buy shielding paint - carbon filler paint and just paint the interrior part- works the same for me.. no audible diffrence for me.. there are claims thou...
but no matter how u shield up,60 cycle hum is hard to get rid.. some says it carries the true single coile tone... others, like me.. resort to cool gadgets like shurs back plate Very Happy
questions? mail me@ john@fattyandskinny.com.my or call me @03- 78777500
