fretted bros,
recently i have found a jackpot full of vintage stuffs. i have been selling some vintage stuffs eversince i've joined ibands. frankly speaking, vintage sales are indeed slow and most of my buyers are oldies not goldies, they will squeeze your balls till they drained them out like the vintage filter caps! ha ha ha!, but this time, to my suprise, it's the other way round! i sell vintage stuffs for these reasons,
1) i have personally experience it's vibe and i like them so much
2) they sounded good, all about tones, no tricks no gimmicks
3) i want to sell something that i can talk about some real facts, not crap and enjoy watching people using them.
4) sharing to the younger genre, though money is involved and transacted, but the quest on why their heroes or bands have walls of golden sound. so why not them?
i'm not a 'terror seller' nor 'guitar hero' or 'legend with lightning speeds or licks' nor 'a well educated music background'. i play music as it is, with some feel that i have collected and inherited through the years. (frankly speaking, my parents opposed music, but the strange part is that they like listening to it! ha ha ha!)
i personally myself would not want to sell crap or damaged stuffs or equipment. i will try to tell if parts are changed or replaced, repaired, not ommited, (like most of the used car salesman or mechanics! ha ha ha!) of the judgements and values of it. i just couldn't be an opportunist to overpriced the stuffs and start slaughtering the kids or fellow musicians, whether young and old... forget the lowballers, sometimes they are the highsellers..
and also, i play a little guitar and frankly speaking, often get cheated in my nostalgic nightmare growing years, either by an individual or the other... same goes here now.. the recycles goes like the bootcut, tapered and bellbottoms!
people get connered when,
1) they are desperate to sell or buy
2) not enough facts finding (sekarang lagi senang, ada internet)
3) market trends and ads ( bila depa taruk signature guitar hero, semua pon dah mengelupor!)
4) entry level or learning stage... (instructor must educated them properly, ait?)
i have noticed, some people are more concentrated more on making sales, mostly salesman because only a number or two will assist you professionally and gave sincere advise. but to some people who wants a ferrari at a cost of kancil, well, they are best to be ignored instead of getting into a dogfight.
and also, some people that i have met told me that he has bought a pickup from this fella, but it is not working, but instead of getting it repaired, he go and sell to another fella who would have fallen into the same trap or situation. (macam pegi sembahyang jumaat la, selipar dia orang kebas, dia kebas selipar orang lak, walhal kat masjid ni...)
i pity some of those people have bought things under these circumstances.. they will treat me as obstacle or nuisance when they started selling or dealing on ibands sort of community, the 'want to be buyer' will sometimes ask or seek advices from me. sometimes, there are price to pay when you are becoming the web watchdog without a running monthly salary. (labour of love)
as a friend to the community, if you're the next victim, would you appreciate somebody who saves you from the disaster? from what i know, some will thank you, while others will act 'sangap' only... truth hurts right?
i rarely see people thank people for their services and advices especially in forums for their 'utmost goodfaith' to help and sort things out by providing good and healty info to the community.
now lately, i've met new genre or breed of younsters. they have knowledge of what they want to buy, more organised, well equiped in tools of their music trade, whether new stuffs or vintage, and frankly, has more growing pleasant ears and feel towards musical instrument(s).
they came to my house to pickup their stuffs purchased, talk to me and discussed about the equipment purchased, the specs and upgrade, on how to used it, the year manufactured and made, the circuirtboard schematics and more.. they are more into analog stuffs.
well to me, this is good. they also seek for info to whereabouts to purchase 'this and that' and also where to send for repair etc. etc..... their preference for this kind of work and advices are more to the 'otai's' with a 'good experience on services and a good track record for their services provided!' there are no ego stuffs here...
i hope more of these new genre and younsters will appear soon. they look very promising to the existing local music scene instead. (pergh! full of glamorous poyos or wannabees - you decide, because they are on tv instead of you! ha ha ha!). to me, these are the new breed, they are more real and they are the real 'indie' now, regardless of what music they play..
yo fellas, keep it up! you are the heroes of tommorow! let's make the community strong! i will assit them the best that i can... that i can guarantee!
if you have the time, listen to 'hold on, i'm coming!' by bb king and clapton from the album 'ride with the king'. what a great jamming feeling!
cheers!
woof!
note:
this is not a propaganda or a well planed marketing strategy, however, you may except things at your own point of view or perception, opinion and please avoid the unnecessary risk! there's no 'mojo' in it and nothing to do with the dead or alive... may god almighty bless us all!
so hold on.... i'm coming!

Bro! very well said! I have to agree on all your points! My hairs was standing while reading the article, terharu and ter"feel" your emotions.
getting emo..hehe..
Its good to see that the music scene in Malaysia is finally picking up. Although the progress is still slow, but at least there's a change happening. Over the years, i personally has been through the bad days. conned, cheated etc etc. But i believe these are the essential experience that you have to go through. Not to mention the financial issue to acquire even the modest gears that i can live with. With helpful people around in the local forums, it makes life easier for people like me who is not so knowledgeable to learn and continue improving from time after time.
Rest assured, in years to come there will be more people who appreciate what real music is. Not some hiphop and r&b crap going on radio nowadays ( i like em as well. However, its entertainment to me instead of music. sorry no offense) There are more young musicians who appreciate old skool gears now. Analogs, true bypass..etc etc...

kisah diatas ni terjadi kat gua last year.
Besoknye, member aku dpt half of his money back. end of the story. Kalu yg jual tu terus lesap..mestila aku kecoh kat ibands atau member aku yg mintak aku belikan tu pun akan buat perkara yg sama kat aku.
Kes kena kencing bila beli used items secara online..memang risky .
So, sendiri mau ingatla.
Sebab kita jengok site ni untuk cari
1) items dgn harga yg rendah..
2) items yg xde jual kat malaysia jugak dgn harga used
........
dulu aku sibuk jugak jual beli barang..sebab belum pasti dan banyak bende lagi yg belum di test... dgn adanya ibands dan beberapa site yg lain telah menjimatkan masa dgn bantuan info dan sebagainya..
........
apapun, selamat maju jaya kepada tuan bdog. Bebanyak tima kaceh sebab selalu suapkan kami dgn pelbagai info. Aku tengah tabung duit ni..kalu ada 335 ...kasi tau yek..jgn posting kat sini dulu..ahahakhaks. |
