Aku pakai Native Instruments Battery. The samples are multisampled and multi layered so you have velocity control.
Aku saja je upload track ni so you guys can hear what exactly i do when i program the drums...listen carefully...you can hear differences in each hit...it sounds human... thats because im playing with the velocity control in the drum editor. yelah kadang2 the drummer hit the drums hard, sometimes lembut2...sometimes dia main 'ghost notes'....itu la maknanya velocity control.
It takes time to learn to do this....you need to really 'listen' to the drummers on your records to learn how they do it....
Its a shame i cant play drums for real...

alrite. i've found the site.
oh...that's velocity control? actually i've never heard of it. honestly.
nicely done.
i think one of the reason got to be the sampled sound huh?
i mean if the sampled sound is so midi-ish......well there goes ur sound.
but the sound i heard, i like!!!!!!!!
thanks for sharing bro, okay i'm off to find the software |

The software its just a software based sampler...it will be useless unless you have the drum samples that come with it...
Dulu aku download Battery on Kazaa, tapi i found out that if you want the drum sounds as well you will have to buy it legally, because the sample library is HUGE...nearly 1.5Gb of samples...because:
the drum samples are recorded according to the strength of the hit. the snare is sampled something like 8 times, from the softest to the hardest hit. Left hand hits, and right hand hits. so untuk satu snare sahaja ada 16 samples...and they dont only provide only 1 snare type...ade something like 25 different snares...berpuluh2 cymbals...bass drums...toms...octobans and bla bla bla....
Takde sapa pun yang taruk drum library dia kat KAzaa...aku dah carik dulu...

Some how aku macam tak caya, coz your drum programming is so good and 'human' and I swore I thought you play drums yourself
As for me I do play drums and did study the art sikit(videos from Simon Phillips/Dennis Chambers). The first time I heard your tracks I really thought you triggered the samples from the keyboard in real time, like I did.
No lah Ridzi, I bet if you take drums, you will be great...USE THE FORCE LUKE.... |

yeah i my first impression exactly, bode. u got the idea already. apalagi ridzi, jgn tunggu lama, lama, then can apply to percussions and all, phuuuhhhh.............cayala.
wahh....sriously they sampled the drums that way. i mean, not only type of snares but even the way they are being stoke. that's good joe....maybe they have it in IMBI plaza, gotta go check it out. 1.5GB is a huge sample library. thanks for sharing.
suicide-overdrive, IMHO sometimes drum programming can make u achieve what u cant really play with drums. like the odd timing and all that. hehehe sort of blissful cheating, if u can get it done well |

I think it might be bigger than 1.5Gb because it has two versions of the same strokes...one is a set of close miked samples....and the other set is using room miked samples... So double that to make 3.0Gb!!! (you mix between the close mic and the ambient mic samples to get that more 'natural sound')
I had to customise my 'virtual drum kit' so it was smaller..My pc would struggle even though it has 512Mb of DDRAM if i loaded the full kit!! |

liquidjive...kalau ada kat Imbi sound aku yer?
Frankly Ridzi, aku impressed giler programming engkau...the only way aku can achieve some of those nuances is to trigger the samples from playing my midi drum pads..phew...respect la... |

Yeah...i have created a library of MIDI files over the years. I basically listened to those drums tracks that i liked on my records, an 'reproduced them' exactly down to each note. This has been a labour of love. I have poured blood, sweat and tears into them to get them how i want them.
So I have this huge 'drum licks gallery'...which I use when i create the tracks.... So nowadays i just choose the licks and beats that i want to use. I might be able to market them as a standalone product...but im just not ready to release them yet. maybe oneday.
