have you ever met a guitarist that just blow you away with their solos on their records? if you had the opportunity to do so, post your tales here. if you have a pic, all the better.
i do have a ltd experience myself. one tries very hard not to be starstruck, but sometimes you just can't help it!
this was pablo gilberto of mr big himself. well, mr big was on hiatus at that time and he had just released his first solo album. he was demo-ing ibanez and laney gear at ronnie scott's in birmingham, this was 1998.
luck had it i had to meet the other powerhouse of mr big in 2000, billy sheehan. he was demoing ampeg amps at sheffield's academy of sound.
both these ppl were so down to earth. you'd never know that they were one of the best musicians in the rock industry (esp in these days where some ppl think they are the biggest stars on this planet after releasing one measly album). it was a pleasure meeting these ppl, and pretty much inspiring!

Nice... personally I have met
Tom Morello, Zack De la Rocha, Jessie Pintado (Napalm Death, I got an autographed CD - in MetaSkeletor's possesion) Dimebag (Pantera) and Mike Patton (formerly of Faith No More)
Slipknot were doing their new album release today in Virgin Tottenham Court Road, and were doing some signings...but i cant be asked... maleh aku bukannya aku minat sgt pun.
Oh and Jim Marshall himself <---i have pictures of this one...but i will need to scan them....

I met Gary Moore at Paddington Station...he was browsing through Guitar Player magazine at one of the newsagents...we shook hands and I didnt wash my hands for at least 7 hours (ambik berkat)... 
I took pics(still unscanned) with Vinnie Moore, met Jim Marshall, Tony Iommi and Joey Taffola.
Oh krik, since you're still in UK, try to check out these guys(I believe they are still teaching in GIT London) : Shaun Baxter, Dave Kilminster and Guthrie Govan. They were unlucky because they came out at the time when the music flavour has preferred minimalistic approach to songs, and virtuosity wasnt what people were looking for at that time and also currently.
Paul Gilbert and Billy Sheehan are so very down to earth...unbelievable to think that these are the same monsters you see onstage tearing their fretboard apart...but mind you, Paul Gilbert was a lil bit cocky during some interviews in the early Racer X days...but that was the time he himself was struggling to get known. Yngwie is big headed but have transformed into a more humble person lately... |

but i would say mike patton is on my list too 
brand new heavies, courdoroy, diana krall, jamiroquai n mother earth....i think....

i suppose meeting these guys at music shows/demos arent that much of a big thing..but bode, meeting gary moore at a newsstand??? HOW COOL IS THAT, MAN!!! 
its like sitting next to dylan on a train, bumping into krik hammett at a sweetshop..the imaginary list goes on!

i saw dave at the guitar expo/show in 2002 at the birmingham nec. he was jamming with neville marten and the rest of the GUITARIST magazine crew. didnt meet him though

heheee.. ganaszz betul korang dapat jumpa musician2 ternama nih... aku pon ade jumpa gak! - Gitaris kumpulan GIEGIEL (siap jamming sekali)
- gitaris + drummer METALASIA (juri masa Battle Of The Bands)
- Jaei SIL-KHANNAZ (jumpa banyak kali tapi still tak cam muka aku - cibet)
- One guy from the band Ito & The Geng (pernah sewa bilik kat rumah parents aku masa late 80's)
- oh yeah, and my drummer was from Sky Juice / Langsuir... hahahaa...
kekeke.. boleh diterima tak? malu nye, so pathetic, tak happening langsung!...

Dulu lepas aku SPM dulu aku keje satu Hotel kat Pasir Gudang....aku pun penah jumpa Ziana Zain....Masa tu dia belum kawin lagi...fuhhhh sweet round ass i could just eat all day.....Oh yeah masa aku keje situ aku penah jumpa Amy Search masa dia patah kaki...kelako.. Ramai gak celeberiti aku jumpa.....Kid pun aku jumpa kat hotel tu. Aku keje kat Front Desk dulu...
Sapa lagi aa Oh yeah...Alex Yoong, Wazi and Sharul Yuzi pun aku penah jumpa - tapi tak kira la sebab diorang racers...bukan musicians..
