I believe that media credibility is strongly attached to political agenda in our country. Thus, any discussion or comment that touches these two fields is highly appreciated.
However, probably we can stick more onto our own perception on Malaysia's media and leave the political things aside.
Cth, cara Metro tiap2 ari bg headline panasss2.. brnafsu aku tiap2 pg tgk muka dpn paper metro. hahaha |

As i said. they are businessman, no such journalism ethics applied.
It doesn't matter if they have connection or not. if you have money, you can control whatever that you wanted to... haha...
The paper will put whatever the reader wanted, in order to sell more and make profits.
Dont tell me you dont like those hot stuffs on your paper... ahaha... it is sure an eye catching...

Will u agree if i say that
the absence of ethics in journalism will shape an ill-morale society.
sbbnya lama kelamaan bila media dijadikan sumber reference (probably when kita smua dh jd tok nenek or rangka) oleh generasi muda, dh xde sebarang good-natured reports yg blh dijadikan pnduan dorg utk mnjalani idup.
aku suka tgk buku teks sjarah bdak2 skolah skrg. aku anggap records of the past (history) as the form of journalism at that point of time. org2 putih time tu labelkn pejuang2 kita (tok maharajalela, etc.) pengkhianat bangsa.
katakanlah kite smpai arini bulat2 je pcaya the only source of reference yg ade tntang sejarah kita, conform idop dlm kejahilan.
media mcm metro skrg ni, mmg kejar duet la gayanya tu. wlaupun berita x btol/sahih, asalkan tajuknya controversial n blh laku, ethics of mnyampaikan kebenaran dorg tolak tepi. x pkir kesan akan dtg for the next generation of readers. |

harian metro tu tabloid. benda kecik pun leh jadik isu. kena pandai goreng, kena pandai cari benda yang ada 'nilai berita', baru orang nak beli.
macam muzik jugak. dah orang nak dengar lagu indon, diorang penuhkan list dengan lagu indon. pendengar nak dengar lagu leleh, diorang letak lagu leleh. camtu jugak pengkarya. pendengar nak dengar lagu dangdut, diorang buat lagu dangdut. penonton nak tengok cerita seram, diorang buat muvie Nang Naak. penonton ske tengok cerita lawak, diorang buat cerita champion punya lawak. klu poser yg ramai, kenala ikut poser..eh x memasal lak..

haah, in a way btol la tu. tapi la kn, aku rasa, aku rasa la, metro kgkadang dh bkn lg dlm kategori tabloid la. lg skali, aku rasa la.. sbb, bila dia melaporkn berita tu, mksudnya somewhere in the world sebenonye dia melaporkn bnda btol2 yg brlaku, bkn mereka-reka cerita out of scratch. bgus la jgk tu, at least trbukak la jgk mata org ramai tntang ape yg sebenonye jd sekeliling dorg. cth mcm pelacuran, rumah urut, lesbian, ubt kuat.. eh, apsal smua cnth2 aku ni obsecene2 blaka? hahaha |

Setsuna: in response to that.. i would disagree.. it may seems that way in the 'perfect' world... but the truth is... the society that shapes the way of journalism in the first place.
For example, as you mentioned about the history, why would you think the history of the world between two different party being told differently?
As the writer, why would they choose to write that way in the first place? Society has played an important role to shape or even manipulate media.
Would you read our history and simply assume that all that've written is right? Based on what? "Trust" & "faith"?
Other than ethics, what other things would you thing the media could be tied to in order to maintain the credibility, professionality and truthfulness of the stories?

ahh.. it's nice to see that at least some like u view this dilemma critically. yeah, things that are too good to be true like the world i had imagined is impossible to achieve even if everyone is perfect. true, even if one holds dearly to ethics, he cant possibly win against a million of his kin.
ethic itself is quite abstract to the point that it can be severely twisted to suit truth by some who benefits from it. if truth (again, who defines truth?) is needed to make money (which is the most important thing other than oxygen to live), then ethic is just a meaningless morpheme where the people has no more significant use of it. stories for publishing are then just equivalent to a complementary channel to support those who claim that they hold to ethics. |

politik muzik ni...lebih pada individual,persembahan atas stage, pertandingan, nak on air lagu, nak jual material kat major label ato tak ada label, buat lagu, pasal,promosi, press conf, RM.. dll
lumrah ahlil muzik melainkan kita ada "nama besar" dalam industri..persaingan mmg tak dinafikan le tapi ye le industri muzik kita ni kecik cuma sekangkang anak kera je pusing2 jumpa balik tambah2 lagi kalo ada gaduh2 siap ajak berwrestling sesama line up sblum ni (ni politik gak ke ye huhuhu)
tapi tu le kecik2 pun industri muzik kat malaysia ni menyumbangkan RM4.***bilion tahun lepas..benda ni pn dengor dari org lama yg berusaha nak buat persatuan ahlil muzik (rock 80-90an)
brader deadzid lebih lama makan garam dan berkecimpung dalam politik muzik..mcm sy ni masih baru-baru nak bertatih..kalau salah tolong jolokkan
kalo gi jamming ada politik ayakk....takbirr....
