'bout the clinic...billy's just sharing with us, how he create music he's playing...usually the technique are use by all drummers...which is their takes time to create by hearing others instrument playing...while hearing others playing he play a simple beat as his metronome...the he just added some beat, and continue the whole thing...
he say it hard to be creative...but that's what he do for the whole life back year...he got experience...some of the beat was old beat but he just add 'something' to it...

its been 3 years this topic arised...but its useful for self taught drummer like me also. we might have a same problems la....but i try to improve the drumming skill and beat.

d) i lack variety when doing beats.. mcm omg, pesen tu je forever.. - take ur time...don't care on what people say
e) when i use open hi hat..buruk sgt sound dier sob..oh and i tak pernah tau ape purpose foot hihat tu.. i tau nak have dat "chick" sound je bile open hihat pastu kite hit foot tu die tutup bunyik "chick" ehehe..
f) i also cant judge macam how fast or slow im going..or how slow or fast i shud go...tempo lah kirenyer...- refer to bass or vox
g) and my performance usually the drums that i use.. let see, some of the drumkits yg i sukeeeeeee main gilegile, dekat sri serdang, eruption studio (tapi dah tutup), rhythm mix (studio c sahaje hahaha) and descharten ttdi.. i HATE drums mase audition yg ive masuk so far..bleargh!

Kebanyakkan org akan mengalami bende yg same. Same la ngn aku mase mude2 dulu  Pengalaman byk mengajar aku erti hidup. aiceh.
Care terbaik dan tercepat ialah pegi mendapatkan cikgu drum or dgn kate lain pegi masuk class drum. Bezanya memang ketara skali. Dulu aku blaja sendiri (ego tanak org ajar *biase la manusia, baget jatuh status kalau masuk klas*), 5 taun main gitu2 je, skadar bole main basic2 la. Jgn buang mase anda, byk lg yg perlu dipelajari. Lagi cepat jadi otai, lebih byk la knowladge kamu.
Dah fedup, pegi la carik cikgu drum. Start dari situ, byk teknik aku blaja skill2, attack stroke2 beat2 mcm2 la, segale bende masalah dapat di atasi dan mcm2 lagi la. Dgn blaja teknik yg betol, baru kite bole practice dgn care yg betol. Mcm masalah wani ni. Kene blaja kak.
Tapi klu nak blaja sendiri bole jee. Tapi otak kene cekap la, bykkan tengok video2, tiru org, research/blajar, byk main lagu (follow drummer tu sebijik2) etc etc.
Tapi mmg serius, blaja lagi cepat korg hebat dr carik sendiri la. Mcm math la, takan korg nak carik kira 1 demi 1 sampai 1juta sedangkan org lain dah jumpe "formula" paling mudah? Nak carik amik mase 1-2 taun, org tunjuk tak sampai 10min da dpt kan?  kali kan la bende2 yg perlu tahu dlm drumming. BERJUTA! ahhaha
Ni cume pendapat dan pengalaman aku je, saje nak share. Xde la hebat mane, harap bole membawa cahaya keberkatan kt korang WAKAKAKA
Yang paling penting dlm dunia ni, practice jgn lupa. Ape2 masalah korang tu sume bole di atasi dgn practice. Jgn anggap tu "masalah", korg practice JE dulu sampai DAPAT. Komfem "masalah" tu tak akan timbul Caye lah. Kene main drum byk2 baru bole jadi drummer handal
Nak main instrument kalau mls practice atau kurang practice mmg lambat gila nk improve, lagi2 nak jumpe skill baru. Mmg susah.
Maaf kalau ade tersalah bahasa atau mengguris hati mana2 pihak. Cume pendapat aku je GUDLUCK, happy drumming, jgn lupa practice ok!. |

nice post bro....aku pun setuju ngan ko.
actually aku saja2 je main drum ni untuk lepaskan tekanan perasaan....
tapi sekarang dah macam gian pulak...
bandmates aku pun ada cakap amik kelas @ berguru dengan orang.
apa yang ko cakap tu betul.....tengok lah macam mana...
