A lot of guitarists make the mistake of scooping their sound too much to the point that it loses 'body'
That's why I love parametric equalizers, I can target the exact frequencies i want to cut or boost, and customize my tone to my liking.

Stick to the K.I.S.S. school of thought.

On the mid-scoop and over-gain, yup I totally agree with you. In my case, my guitar body sounds are wiped out by the wrong combination of preamp and IR. Mind telling us which virtual preamp you are using (possibly with its setting) and your favourite IR? And how do you normally process the guitar tracks?
As for drum tracks, IIRC the sounds projected by ezDrummer are already compressed. I thought all I need is just boost them up, not to make it overly compressed. So just add another pinch of compression is OK rite? Sorry la bro, noob question.
I'll try to reduce the tracking to just double and see how they sound. Like you, I also have quite a number of songs begging to be completed. Banyak komitmen la... And most of the time when I want to finish it, new ideas come and creating more backlogs... Haiyya....

Ok heard the new mix.... the snare sounds more lively now...the kickdrum sounds bit more punchier now.
But tak balance la bro... overheads langsung tenggelam. Sounds like the drum track is 'choked' by compression. Your cymbals/crashes aren't ringing out and the song sounds kinda muffled. |
