hmm nanti aku test nengok whether or not a bigger RAM size will help reducing the CPU meter.
itu hari aku terbaca yg this kinda problem, can't be fixed by simply adding more RAM pasal dia kata the VST/VSTi, gunakan processor power. One of the suggestions dia kasi is to add another PC to our setup.. so 1 will be the Main machine and the other can be hooked up for using your VST/VSTi.
don't know how to do it though. _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

if you have a large amount of hard disk space and RAM. i think you can simply increase your virtual memory. maybe this can be a quick solution when you're using application with high processing power. another thing you should also consider is the motherboard itself. a high memory with a low bus mobo is like you're driving a ferrari on a driveway. _________________ "life is what you make it"

betul cakap Pali tu!
ni cara utk customize VM..
1) Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties.
2) Click on the Performance tab and then on the Virtual Memory button. (WinXP users click on the Advanced tab, then click on the Settings button in the Performance section, then click the Advanced tab, and finally click the Change button in the Virtual Memory section)
3) Choose the Let Me Specify My Own Virtual Memory Settings option. (WinXP users choose the Custom Size option)
4) In the Hard Disk drop-down list, choose a location for the virtual memory swap file. This should be the same drive on which you have Windows installed. You probably won't have to change this setting. (WinXP users can skip step 4)
5) For the Minimum and Maximum parameters enter the same value. The value should be anywhere from 2 to 4 times the amount of physical memory you have installed in your computer. Try going with 2 times at first. The higher the number you use the more disk space you need for the swap file. For example, if you have 128MB of memory installed in your computer, you can try a value of 256 for both the
Minimum and Maximum parameters. (WinXP users enter values for the Initial Size and Maximum Size parameters accordingly)
6) Click OK.
7) Click Yes. (WinXP users can skip step 7) _________________ Gelanggang guitar : http://guitarden.starahead.com |

did that already. didn't show any significant improvements though. Applications load a bit faster but doesn't help much when using the VST especially Amplitube. That thing is using alot of CPU lah. nampak kecik jek interface, but gulping up resources like a mammoth
U guys know any other alternative than Amplitube and Guitar Rig? _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

ok, this is pretty much a slightly technical approach. what you do is you create a *.bat file which will launch an application. and you set a parameter to allocate memory when running that certain application.
for instance ..
-vmargs -Xms256m -Xmx256m (this means that you're allocating 256 RAM for this certain program to run on).
i'll get back with an example of how to do this. _________________ "life is what you make it"
