| i pun baru angkat itu AMON semalam. so far just tried the midi connection & no latency la, & dgr pakai headphone je. belum try cucuk guitar lagi. camno, u dapat good price la. mine is much more expensive. dah naik rega kot.. |

| Good price eh? Huhu, tapi bro dont mind me asking. Nape tak beli toneport je bro? Skang with sales kat CK Music, giler murah.. i think 3xx kot. Ni cam menyesal angkut AMON ni sbenarnye. huhu.. bro ajay, im facing a problem using 8 tracks in cubase and running guitar rig sebagai amp modeler. Erm, 8 tu sajer2 jer nak test limit amon tu tapi nampaknye memang betul laa. Cannot have more than 8 tracks with amp modeler. More than 8 then tiba2 amon cam crash, terus takde bunyi. Tapi klu buang amp modeler ok, takde masalah. 20 track pon ok lagi. Tertanya tanya adakah salah pc atau AMON. Tanya kot kot anda mempunyai masalah sama ke. |

Toneport ko boleh pakai untuk guitar aje... you can't use it for sequencing etc etc.. You need a dedicated soundcard if you are thinking of doing proper recording and seqeuncing.
As for pre-amps - if you have a powerful CPU it would be fine to use VST's like Guitar Rig or Amplitube...but if you are a mere mortal like me that cannot really afford expensive CPU's then using a seperate pre-amp like a V-Amp or a Line6 POD is the answer for you. As for the AMON's case...I am sure it can't really handle much processing so this route is also the best for you
Besides...the Toneport isn't really a serious recording tool...it's more like a toy actually - aimed for the hobbyist really...

Ahh maybe I didn't make myself clear - what i meant was is that can you cannot use the Toneport as a soundcard in Cubase...correct me if I am wrong. I know the Toneport comes with a Toneport ASIO driver but you are very limited on what you can do aren't you??
You have to use Gear box don't you...can you actually record the sounds from Gearbox and piggy back Gearbox into Cubase as a VST?? I know the VST plugin is sold seperately...If you monitor the sounds from Gearbox- doesn't it conflict with the monitoring in Cubase??
I know for a fact that the toneport does not come with the synth chip...which means you can kiss all your soft synths goodbye if you do decide to make the Toneport your soundcard exclusively...
To be honest just sounds like too much hassle really... like I said better off getting a dedicated soundcard...

I've use my PODxt as a soundcard b4...live and in the studio.
I'm not sure if the same as the toneport tho.
for live. . I manage to connect a keyboard(usb) to the laptop to trigger VSTi in Nuendo and output thru the PODxt. The POD won't process the signal from the sequencer(Nuendo). At the same time I have my guitar plugged in the PODxt's input and using it like normal. I think for the tone port, u should be able to have gearbox running along with ur sequencer.
for recording, the PODxt let's ur choose a few routing. U can record ur guitar dry while monitoring the processed signal. Then u can choose to re-amp that dry signal with different amp settings or whatever effects u wanna do.
That also mean that u can process sounds other than ur guitar. Like let's say u triggering a VSTi, u can use the effects on the PODxt to process that signal from the VSTi real time and record it back if u wish. |

i hv tried connecting my guitar to the amon (hi-z) & played thru amplitube. so far ok la no issue. i don't do any recording yet. i'm not sure whether amon can accept both midi in & hi-z at the same time because the control panel only has button selection one at a time.
okta, i'm interested to know more detail on your live set up with keyboard & guitar coz that's what i intend to do. you mention "to trigger VSTi in Nuendo and output thru the PODxt. The POD won't process the signal". you mean you set nuendo output to the PODxt midi in & the PODxt midi out goes somewhere else? |
