according to neutrik
Quote: | First XLR / jack hybrid panel mount connector combining a 3 pole XLR receptacle and mono or stereo ¼" phone jack in one XLR housing. Space saving combination of 2 connectors in one plastic housing. Available in nonswitching and normalling versions with horizontal or vertical pcb mount or soldering termination.
Many equipments have two input connectors (balanced XLR and unbalanced jack). But in almost all cases only one input is used at a time, so the Combo reduces panel space, costs and simplifies pcb design. |
then Hi-Z plak according to Sweetwater
Quote: | Hi-Z
As the letter Z is the commonly agreed upon abbreviation for impedance, then Hi-Z simply refers to "hi-impedance." This refers to the input or output impedance of a device (in our cases an audio device). Precisely what Hi-Z means, and how it is applied in the audio industry, is not entirely concrete. In general devices with impedances up through 600 ohms are said to be "low impedance," while devices with impedances of several thousand ohms and up are considered "high impedance." Typically we only come in to contact with these generic terms on microphones (usually low cost microphones), some direct boxes, and certain types of line inputs (on mixing boards, some tape decks, etc.). A typical guitar, for example, generally needs to be connected to a Hi-Z input. Otherwise the electronics will be "loaded down" and the sound will be significantly altered. A Hi-Z microphone — which we don't encounter very often in pro audio (we generally use low impedance mics) — definitely needs to be connected to a high impedance input, and even then the cable length can't be more than 10 or 20 feet before the signal degrades. |
best jugak menatang google ni... |

amende tu? aku baca banyak kali pon tak paham hahahaa... tolong simplify hehehe.. so apa conclusion dia? is it Hi-Z or neutrik or what? pro n cons?
omar:
oo so ko nak pakai amp modeling la ni... kalau itu mcm aku suggest pakai toneport la.. aku rasa dia pakai Toneport punya processor kot (pasal CPU aku tak affected pon bile pakai GearBox - kalau tak silap la)..
no wonder la Line 6 ada expansion packs which we can load to Toneport, GuitarPort, etc... heran gak aku, ape kejadah nye nak load menatang2 tu kat hardware, bukan ke bende tu mcm vst, just install kat pc / notebook, then load thru application GearBox... ohohoh business strategy diaorang mmg baik.. software Gearbox tu takleh guna kalau takde Line 6 punya hardware... tu pasal la software GearBox tu free for download! hahahhaa... _________________ > facebook

aku rasa connector jenis tu die orang panggil Hybrid connector atau pon combo connector. Bukan Hi-Z
Hi-Z means high impedance. (Z simbol for impedance)
Input bagi instruments biasanye Hi-Z kot(guitar,bass...)
i might be wrong. Lemah bab theory ni.. |

aku tak la particular sgt pasal line input sbb dah ada audio interface. cuma maybe specific brand lebih ssi ke utk recording. macbook pro mcm bagus...tapi mahal gilerrr...almost 10k!!! _________________ --------------------------------------------------

aku rekemen Acer... bukan sbb aku pon pakai Acer, tapi aku rasa ni la brand yg paling murah kot (selain jenama cap ayam mcm Asus, etc)... spec mcm aku boleh dapat around RM2,500.
- Acer Aspire 5573ANWXMi
- Intel Core Duo (1.86 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache)
- 14.1" LCD
- 80GB harddisk
- DVD writer
- 1GB DR2 (support dual-channel)
- others: 1.3 megapixel camera, 3 USB slots, wireless network, bluetooth, etc
aku pon bukan geti sangat pasal spec laptop ni heheheh... tapi so far okay je, takde masalah. maybe nak kena beli notebook cooler pad la utk kasi sejuk skit.. _________________ > facebook

Some manufacturer use bad quality component i heard but I'm not sure which. better read some reviews on the soundcard your using on compatibality problems. Some issues i read for desktop e.g MOTU soundcard works mostly with Texas instruments firewire cards..
My company bought a lot of stuff from Dell. They seems to provide good service.
512MB is not really enough. at least 1GB. If you plan to go vista, check if your soundcard have the drivers for Vista.(Most probably got but better check)
Compaq looks nice... |
