FEEL like some power-trio rock, high-energy pop, funk and blues, and
some really hot metal? Then don't miss the Indies 4 Indies gig at
Paul's Place in Old Klang Road on March 25.

Set to deliver a mix of original material and shrewdly chosen covers
are highly regarded hard-rock/metal trio Deja Voodoo ( http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/11/ ), pop-funk
purveyors Call The Paramedics ( http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/9/ ), and blues/funk-rockers Kamasutra II.

Deja Voodoo, comprising Rithan (guitar, vocals), Inol (drums) and
Mel (bass), came into being in 2002 when a guitarist and drummer
representing Malaysia at the World Music Festival in Kyrgyzstan
discovered that they had a lot in common where musical direction was concerned.

Since then, the group has been building up a steady following in
Malaysia and Singapore playing at major music fests.

The band has also released an independently recorded debut album
called 'I Am What I Am' which has been described as "an explosion of
blues, rock and funk".

Call The Paramedics, featuring Meng (guitar, mic), Mulon (guitar),
Sam (bass), Alda (drums), Renee (mic) and Ajeep (keyboards), was
formed in college circa 1995. The band is named after a snatch of
dialogue by The X-Files' Dana Scully.

CTP, which has built up a loyal base of fans by gigging at various
events over the last few years, released a self-titled demo featuring
four original songs recently.

Kamasutra II, formed earlier this year, features Rudy ( http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/1489/ ) on drums,
Rizal on bass and RS ( http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/bands/1024/ ) on guitar and vocals. The band made its stage
debut at the Louder Than Love Unicef benefit at Zouk on Feb 6.

Proceeds from the Indies 4 Indies! gig will go to the Centre For
Independent Journalism ( http://www.cijmalaysia.org/ ).

Entry to the event is through a minimum donation of RM10. Show
starts at 9pm.
