Soundscape Records is delighted to announce that two of our associate artists, Nao and Citizens Of Ice Cream will be performing at the Music Terminals Festival 2009 in Taipei (1st & 2nd August). The two days festival will take place at the Tao Yuan Stadium, situated at Tai Yuan City, Taipei.

The festival will showcase the finest international artists, including Placebo, Tricky, Frente, Radio Department, The Raveonettes, Chicks On Speed, Mick Turner Of Dirty Three, Liz Durrette, Ghost, Car Sick Cars and many more.

In order to prepare themselves for the festival, the two bands are due to perform at the In-Transit warm-up show at Urban Attic, on 28th July, a day before they depart to Taiwan.

The In-Transit warm-up show will also feature The Stabs, The Holy Soul and Cuba is Japan, the three Melbourne-based bands who will also be performing at the Music Terminals Festival.

Cuba Is Japan, the new-ish project for Cameron Potts (Baseball, Ninetynine), will live up to their East-inspired moniker when they tour Asia in July-August.

The experimental four-piece – Potts, Bianca Poitevin, James Heenan and Darcy Pimblett –recently recorded their debut album with US transplant Kramer, who has worked with Galaxie 500, Lou Reed and most recently Leader Cheetah.

The Holy Soul comprised of Trent Marden (guitar and vocals), Sam Worrad (bass), Jon Hunter (Guitar) & Kate Wilson (drums). In 2006, the band toured in Europe with Mudhoney. They are the first rock band to become a Wu-Tang Clan affiliate.

Australian music magazine “Drum Media” described their music as “snarling guitars with lazy bluesy vocals one minute and filthy *Toot*-off rock n roll the next”.

Joining the two bands on Asia tour are The Stabs, since their inception in 2003 the band have toured independently outside Australia four times, released three 7” singles, sold out two pressings of their debut album Dirt, supported the likes of Mudhoney, Rowland S Howard, The Scientists and Lubricated Goat and continue to play shows all over Australia.

2009 is shaping up to be a busy year for The Stabs having already played the inaugural Australian “All Tomorrows Parties” festival at the request of curators Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds. They’ve also made a trip across the ditch to play New Zealand’s legendary ‘Camp a Low Hum’.

The In-Transit warm-up show is scheduled to be held at 28th July, at Urban Attic. Also in the line-up are local electronic artists Rainf, Silent Keat and Forbiddenculture.

Showtime is 8pm. Admission is RM20, tickets are available at the door. For advance booking, contact ticketing@soundscape-records.com or 016 3369089
