JUST FOUND OUT IT IS KASABIAN!!!!!!!! GOT DIS ON FACEBOOK
This coming Friday 14th sees the second installment of the UK’s finest indie night being exported to Malaysian shores. Still recovering from the giddy KOKO kick off back in June we’ve been busy pulling all the strings to ensure that the next CLUB KOKO is one that you will never, ever forget.
The suspense we have kept you all in over this past week can now be lifted as we reveal that on Friday 14th August 2009 a name like no other will be gracing Barsonic with their presence.
That name ladies & gentleman is KASABIAN.
Straight off the back of their second #1 album ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ the Leicester foursome could not be in more demand as KOKO Asia goes balls out to put its mark on the Malaysian indie scene. Quite simply, Barsonic has not seen rock royalty of this stature before and we are urging everyone to come as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Due to their MTV commitments Tom Meighan and co. are unable to perform at the next KOKO, but having heard of the legendary club night being in Kuala Lumpur the same week as their visit the boys from Leicester could not resist the chance to come down and kick it with the KOKO faithful.
For many this may well be the only chance to meet and greet one of the most influential bands in the UK of the last decade.
Back by popular demand and fiddling the wheels of steel for this one off photo op is none other than festival destroyer SIMON SUBSONIC who will be playing one of his last gigs in Asia before heading back to the UK to perform at legendary festivals like Reading and V supporting world renowned acts like Radiohead and Oasis to name just a few.
And of course, we simply could not put an event on of this stature without including the trailblazers of the KL indie scene TWILIGHT ACTIONGIRL as Ribut, Bunga, Xu and ChaseyLain continue their dominance as the act to watch for winding up your weekend shenanigans.
The night is being pieced together by KOKO Asia’s very own JOHNNY MAYO who will be guaranteeing the weekend kicks off on the right note with an hour of the biggest and best in indie, most bass line destroying drum and bass and cutting edge electro tracks to welcome Kasabian into the KOKO fold.
Suring up the event is none other than local boy done good HACKEEM ELEKTRISCHER who over the course of the last year has become one of the most recognisable and distinguished acts in the KL indie scene supporting his outfit Mixing in Action (happy birthday guys!).
Friday 14th August 2009. Barsonic will never be the same again…
