As you probably are aware, I'm not all that into modern/post-modern shred-guitar, though I admire the tribe's religious devotion to technique.
But I'll make an exception for Blues Saraceno who's really got a terrific balance of all the important elements -- tone, technique, feel, harmony, rhythm, phrasing, speed and space.
Was just listening to his 1992 CD 'Plaid' which is truly a monster trick-guitar showcase. It's funkazoidfuzzofreakadelicious... whatever that's supposed to mean!

One of my favourite blues player.
Blues Saraceno is not actually a shredder coz he prefers to play clean rather than fast but yeah he can play fast though.
his use of blues and pentatonic scales are not your normal way of phrasing. his got his own style.
