Elow Jiro,
I rase, 1 kasut cannot fit everyone le. I dah try both EzD and AD, i will give a side by side comparison ye.
EzD
-----
Interface - Quite user friendly
Sound Quality - Mmg best
Tweak-ability - Very limited. But alternative, multi-track kat host and tweak kat individual channel
Flexibility - EzD x bley mix and match with different kit, eg Pop Kit snare x bley mix ngan DrumKit frm Hell, DKFH
Versatility - Quite versatile for lots of genre with the expansion kit. U kena pandai2 cari sound laa...
Processing Power: PC spec mesti high end skit, if not SANGKUT! Loading time pun take some time if x cukup RAM.
File size - BESAR gile, 1 drum kit 4gig+, if nak expansion kit yg lain2... ish... habis HDD ku...
AD
----
Interface - Slightly complicated than EzD.
Sound Quality - Bagus but EzD still better
Tweak-ability - Sgt bagus... ia dah include compressors, eq, dist, fx n etc specifically used for drum. Tak perlu susah2 kat Host.
Flexibility - AD bley mix and match ngan each drum kit available. U can build your "own custom drum". Chey wa.... marketing strategy kut heheh.
Versatility - AD comes with 4 drum kit sets. With the combination of the build in FX, u bley create different2 tone out of it la.. So agak suitable for lots of genre jugak
Processing Power: Way better thn EzD, loading time pun sekelip mata aje..
File Size: Acceptable, maybe all the recorded sample dah di-compress so x makan la byk HDD space. But sound quality wise mungkin degrade.
Summary
So bagi I, each have them hav pros n cons la. But as an overview, if you are into contempo stuffs, rock... EzD would be more suitable. Bagi genre yg berat skt....EzD ade DKFH... but i find sound ia agak thin la, so kena pandai2 tweak la.
Klau u nak aggressive skt mcm hard rock, progressive rock, metal I would choose AD sbb, default setting drum-nye sgt punchy n "Boh ada UmmphH"
So itu aje i punye 2 + 2 cents worth. Pergi la cuba2 yg mne sesuai ngan genre yg kau into. _________________ Thank you

i agree with u it just i cant say much about AD coz tak pernah cuba but dengar demo and see video agak macam best
as long time user for EZD i got no problem to tweak in host, kinda like to do it coz i very rajin to treat every thing manual it just one thing i kinda hate this EZD is i have to mengalah with him, supposedly our software have to mengalah with me
mean at time i want something but i cant get it, need to switch to other expansion, after switch i already got it but the other maybe like kick drum i dont like it pulak, i kinda like the vintage rock expansion but option dia sikit for me..
so kinda na try AD, but malas pulak nak dload sampai 15 part rar file kan hahaha but for AD aku suka when i know we can creat our own drum, not like EZD limited upon which expansion we use..
as u got AD, just asking can AD create some snare sound kind alike the strokes drum? not big room sound but the room tranparent very visible, and does most of the sampler easy to fit in the mix?
plus why u said EZD drum sounding is better than AD? _________________ Support Malaysia Local Band

jiro....nape x guna dua2 skali...bg aku if music mcm the strokes bla2 better guna nashville ezd....
-aku suka snare n room kat addictive....but suka kick ezd....
So aku guna both la......
cth lagu yg aku guna 70%ezd+30% addictive.....
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4095024/suatu%20hari%20nnti_mix.mp3
ni plak cth guna AD 100%...aku dpt rasa kick x best...dah compress n eq pon still x bleh mampat2....(tue aku yg mix la...kalo yg terer bleh kot)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4095024/sakura%20must%20die_mix.mp3/sakura%20must%20die_mix.mp3
-lagu 'bila 1.65 pon pakai addictive coz ezdrummer xde bunyi snare yg mcm aku nak....haha...
-aku rasa snare addictive lagi lazat n org ssh sikit nak kenal....kalo ezdrummer mostly kita bleh agak snare dia......bila dgr je dah tau pakai ezdrummer....(ni pon pandangan aku la...xtau la org lain)...hehe
Tp yg pntng bg aku drum vsti ni depend on kita pny genre n composition jgk kot....kadang2 EZD perlu n AD pon perlu.....so apa kata kita guna dua2.... |

nashville, for certain song aku suka guna, mmg lazat gak, cuma snare still aku rasa too sharp and too nice sound even add room or verb kat snare tuh.
tapi nashville selalu bukan menjadi pilihan, kekadang aku terasa cam nashvile mengserabutkan aku pun ada gak hahahah
dan kick EZD plak aku tak berapa minat, kekadang kederangan sgt midi, kekadang slow gila sampai kick dia tak cut thru plus option utk kick yg diberi macam tak cukup buat aku ahahahha
aku dah dgr track yg kau provide, kinda like yg first punya, sound snare dia mmg lazat, tapi track yg second tuh huhuhuhu aku rasa drum dia obvious gila cam digitalize but still snare dia really adorable.. _________________ Support Malaysia Local Band

Sound like stroke drum? Snare yg mane satu kat EzD?
Pasal AD's punye sampler ezy to fit in the mix, it depend on your choice of tone la...
For me, klau i compose a song, i will draft out the drum sequence 1st, then thn bass, then guitars. Yg plg mencabar for me is findin the right guitar tone to fit nicely to mix and not the drum
I pasti most of u encounter problem drum sounded digital... this is becox the "base" tone utk instrument tu dah hilang due to over compress, eq n etc.
VSTi mcm EzD, AD ni semua have is own "base" tone so jgn over tweak it. Spent more time tweak your guitar tone instead. Ia bagikan istilah guitar tone u sehelai kertas putih, u bley conteng apa2 yg kau nak... tapi untuk drum vst.. another kertas putih yg telah diconteng... u hanya bley kemaskinikan part2 yg u x puas..
Mmg too bad la klau drum base tone yg u nak cari2 is not there, tweaking it more wouldn't help neither.
EzD sound better than AD?
I refer to sound quality in terms of the recorded samples.
EzD, 1 drum kit aje require 4Gig space.... AD, 4 drum kit, gune 1.5Gb space aje..
So ia macam compare ngan *.wav with *.mp3. Both can be sound good to our ears. But quality wise obviously kite tau mp3 dah di-compresskan...
Harap u dapat idea tu yaya.. hehe..
Cheers

EZD is 16bit, while AD is 24bit
heheh eternal, im not over doing, btw im not a type of recordist who just want to click n play, copy and paste, insert vst , done, my song finish~!
my learning way is to tweak how many possible u can, so later u will know how many possibility that vst can do for you
as you mention if over tweak will kill some of it tone, i might think is wrong, coz i kinda dont like want to mengalah with a software, the software should be giving me what i want hahaha, so tweaking it till fit to ur guitar is good kan? at least we learn what to do, heheh _________________ Support Malaysia Local Band

just for a reminder... when you tweak something... other things will be affected and need to be compensate... _________________ KreativWerks MediaSolutions|Soundcloud | YouTube | Facebook |
