But the audio keeps going off at irregular intervals, so you've got to record many takes and edit them later.
As for the sounds, they're really amazing. Am seriously considering getting the whole Arturia collection -- the ARP 2600 V, the Minimoog V, the CS-80 V, and the Moog Modular V -- now going for US$599 (looks like local El Piratas have decided not to touch these).

This dude, who is the brother of Meshuggah's drummer is an electronic engineer, his name is Johan Haake, he created this 3D breath MIDI controller to be used with a guitar. He calls it the '33' - The Freaky sound Bender for Guitarists...
Basically you get one of these controllers, then get a Nord Clavia MicroModular ( RM!!!!!! ) and put them together to get these really cool effects,
my favourite is doing the 'saxophone effect' blowing into the breath controller as you move your head to move the X and Y axis of the joystick ... but looks kinda weird....
I nearly bought one of his controllers, but at the time he was making them by hand in Sweden, and the price was a bit too much for me at the time..
I hope he managed to get a manufacturer.... Roland made something similar but the MIDI data wasn't smooth enough for guitarists...so it kinda flopped.

I had a Yamaha breath controller (BC1) for my DX7 in the mid-'80s (standard poseur "mouth piece" for everyone from Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea to the New Wave dudes then). Quite a cool tool for adding a breathy effect to horns and voices!
Still have the DX7 (the one in the avatar with a Casio CZ-101 on top) but my BC1 has vanished!

The DX7 (at least the MkI version) is almost worthless now except as a very basic MIDI controller. But it boasts one the nicest semi-weighted keybeds ever put on a five-octave synth. |
