to all :
"we don,t want to censor your song. what we want is to change your song. you're the younger generation; you believe in change." - Rocco Laginestra, RCA Records
change is somewhat a censorship to me. let me put it this way ...
let say you & your band have this kick ass tune that your are surely think that it will make you & your band filthy rich .... the right way to go is to a record label. after a while of wondering in KL .... finally you find a label that you like .... the label love it ... BUT ... you have to change the song ... or pick another song from the people "so called composer"
now ... my question is this what will you do in that kind of predicament ?
A. beat the shit of the label guy
B. follow his way .... think money, babes .. fast cars
C. beat the hell crap out of him .... then follow his way
for me, censorship has it's own pros & cons ... to beat censorship is to be more creative ... think out side the whole damm box...
lastly, i want to quote a line from R.O.T.T.W 100 th issue ...
"bukankah sekatan atau censorship itu lah yang akan membuatkan orang-orang seni itu lebih kreatif ..."
look ... think & ponder ...
me out ... |

dude, changing a song a bit is okay for me as long as it's still our song. Sometimes those guys do have better view on what kind of flow that people would like. sikit2 takpa ler. kalau banyak sangat lain ah citer..baik bikin lagu baru ye dak? hehe
but using their composers is definitely a no no. _________________ [ Kluk Kluk Adventure ] | [ Call the Paramedics ] | [ Dot ] | [ AJEEPEK ] |

yeah man..i can't see the rationals behind using a composer..esp when you have to pay rm 5k for setiap lagu ..that already adds up the total cost of production..mcm kawan aku pitok dalam band v5 ..dia kata band dia asal rock funk skarang jadi rojak cos A&R person dia suruh dia main lagu orang yg ada style hip hop.. ada style ballad la...
pastu since the total cost of production is up..that'll definitely make it harder for them to cut the next record if the they cant cover the cost of makin the first album..just doesnt make any economic sense..
dunnolah that's just my 2 cents..aku bukannya arif pasal recording2 kat malaysia ni..tapi in pure economic analysis , writing your own song is defintely the way to go..but of course dontla suck at it he he... _________________ my photoblog - http://sigemok.blogspot.com |

wat pe nak ikut telunjuk org... ko buat music, main music, produce, distribute sendiri.... bukan susah... semua tu usaha korang sendiri... wat nak harap kat org lain..diorang senang2 je buat duit atas usaha korang... rm 20 = rm15 for label + rm 5 for musician/singer/band... adilkah??? underground wujud atas dasar ini.... so pilih le jalan yg betul _________________ b like what u want to b |

hmmm.... tak betul dr segi apa tu? tipu duit? tp apa yg aku maksudkan sebenarnya adalah own label... bukan sign dgn underground label.. sbb U/G label pun banyak yg kaki rip off!! baik kuar duit sendiri press n distribute... kalo tak larat cr le distributer... tp distributer is major label... so they suck ur money for their commission.... about rm 6-7 for a rm20 cd...that's only for distributing not including promotion... senang2 je diaorg kaut "duit" kita...
about only several U/G label yg function...banyak yg dah gulung tikar... nothing else that kill those labels.... "MONEY"...the enemy of music busines.... so becarefull with "MONEY" _________________ b like what u want to b |
