Title: Guts Of Gore
Duration: 1:10
Genre: Death Metal (instrumental)
Listen:
New! Watch the home-made video clip!
Equipment List:
- BC Rich Platinum Warlock guitar
- Behringer V-Tone GDI21 preamp stompbox
- Behringer Eurorack UB802 mixer
- Behringer HPS3000 studio headphone
- Pentium II 400MMX with cheap soundcard
Software:
- Sonic Foundry Sound Forge (for recording)
- Sonic Foundry Vegas Pro (for mixing / post-efx)
- Guitar-Pro 4 (for drum / bass programming)
This is my first effort of writting a Death Metal tune (though i've been listening to it for years now!)... it's still a work in progress, the idea just came spontaneously, without proper song arrangement, settings, etc... i just plugged the guitar into the GDI21, try out a few riffs, and there you have it... a 6 hours work, completed at 3:00am! The result - a malicious, sick, gory one minute ++ tune of Death Metal!
Please give some feedback.. thanx! _________________ > facebook

dah dengar..
dari segi arrangement lagu menarik.. dalam satu minit tu macam2 riff ada.. vocal takde ke? hehehe
dari segi sound aku tak reti komen tapi biler aku dengar rasanye bunyi rythm gitar tu kuat sangat sampai bunyi drum pedal dan bass tenggelam sikit.. pastu distortion dia pun bright sangat (kat speaker aku laa.. speaker org lain tak tau la mungkin ok kot)...
ape ape pun best... nanti buat aa complete song ok.. btw komen aa lagu aku punisment of evil madness kat thread ni ok.. nak dengar komen otai metal macam ko pulak heheheheh... _________________ http://www.facebook.com/pages/PREDICATE-NOT-DEFINED/78606712588

alrighty, thanx...
actually lagu nih dah 2-3 kali aku remix and balanced kan... memula pakai headphone, sound bass n drum tenggelam so aku up kan la... then dengar kat speaker hifi aku lak, terlampau menyerlah drum/bass dia... so last sekali aku cut balik bass n drum...
aku memang nak tonjolkan sound guitar (especially rhythm part) pasal nak kasik korang dengar sound yg aku dpt thru Behringer GDI21 nih... aku rasa nih la sound recording utk gitar yg paling best aku boleh dapat... tapi maybe tak cukup experiment kot, kena test dengar kat player2 lain lak..
thanx anyway... oh yea undefined.. lagu ko tu aku baru je download, malam karang baru boleh dengar pasal aku kat client site nih, takde speaker heheh.... nanti aku review... _________________ > facebook

the sound qualitys really good zid, tapi memang ada bright sikit la guitars ko, and its too digital sounding..maybe kalau letak vintage warmer sikit for ur guitars bagi dia blend in a bit better. |

haa?? still digital?? i thought kalau pakai analog pre-amp nih, no more digital sounding akan appear? hmm tu lah masalah aku tak geti nak differentiate between digital and analogue sound! hahahah
anyway, camne nak letak vintage warmer? ape kejadahnye benda tu? efx ke? gadget ke? ajar le sikit... hmm nanti aku try adjust sound gitar kasik cut dia punya treble...
thanx by the way! you rock! _________________ > facebook

deadzid laa yang telah menemui jiwaku yang terhumbang hambing dalam lautan gelora music lantas membawaku ke pangkuan i-bands...FUHHH..SASTERA MACAM SIAL..hehe. Thanks deadzid, i never did say thank you for telling me about this place .
anyway, vintage warmer ni im talking about both through hardware atau software ko bleh buat. Camni, ada 2 cara aku selalu buat nak bagi warm up harsh tracks ;
1. Reamp
run it once more through an amp with some good mic techniques .. pakai 2 mic lagi bagus. This site would explain the basics of it - http://www.homerecordingconnection.com/news.php?action=view_story&id=140
. Sound dia lagi kaw. Leceh la sikit but it saves the trouble of having to mess with EQ trying to find the sound you want. Plus you can get ambience and early reflections which you cant get from digital reverbs. THis method though setting up can be a hassle, fitting it into a track senang gile..
2. VSTs.
There a few amp simulators which u could use for warming up harsh recordings from guitar tracks. There's Antares tube simulator, Revalver, Warp, PSP Vintage Warmer, Antares Amp Legends to name the prominent few. Bende ni leceh sikit because the sound will probably go through loads of eq-ing resulting in phase changes meaning it will be hard to fit into a track. |

alrighty jeff... thanx for the tip... for the 2nd option (VST plugin) i don't think my pc supports it... i'm still using my old resurrected pentium II with a cheapo yamaha soundcard!
as for the "reamp" thingy... i thought by just using the GDI21, i don't have to use any amp and miking techniques, coz the unit itself has an amp + mic placement simulation with additional tube mod option... to me this is a cool toy if you wanna do direct recording to pc, since i don't have a good amp + mic for this purpose!
...and by the way, all rhythm guitar parts has no applied efx (reverb, delay, etc) except for a slight track compression and gate during mixing.. itu la original sound gitar + GDI-21!
about drum snare, nanti aku record + mix balik track drum tuh, pakai sound snare yg lagi padat! till then, keep on reviewing!
