ATTENTION NEWBIES! 
i-bands & midi specialist is doing a workshop on basic home recording. The fee is around RM30 which we are going to use to cover rent for the classroom and the instructor. If there's some leftovers (which is a rare thing in my case ), it'll go to i-bands for funding future activities.
below is the details of the workshop
Venue : Low Yat Plaza
Date : 30th July 2005 (Saturday)
Time : 10.30 am
"How to make music with your computer"
Topics covered:
1-Introduction: How music is made then (analog audio, using tape) and now (digital audio, using hard disk). The typical recording chain: mic->microphone preamp and/or mixer-> multitrack recorder-> mixer-> 2 track recorder for mixdown
2-What equipment you will need to start recording (choosing audio and MIDI interfaces, microphones, MIDI controllers, cables, speakers etc.)
3-How to setup your equipment (types of cables to use, installing hardware and software, configuring your PC)
4-How to get your music into your computer (recording audio, sequencing MIDI, importing loops)
5-How to make your music sound good (editing audio and MIDI; mixing using eq, dynamics processors and effects)
6-How to present your final product (basic mastering, encoding to compressed formats)
and offcourse a Q&A session.
