Hi everybody
I baru saje beli 1 Laney MXD120... and juz wanna ask u guys about this amp...
Errr and I am not so familiar with their settings etc..
I have got a BOSS MD-2..
If i wanna play Metallica's songs.. something like Fade to Black.
Iron Maiden's Hallowed Be thy name..
mind tell me what is the ideal settings/ EQ on this amp???
aiiii and I don't really know the use of the MAX button there..

i'm not a metal fan... 
but if you dont mind i'll take a crack at it...
this very general way of finding ones prefered setting
atleast this is what i do la, org lain ade cara lain la kot... 
leave out you efx pedals 1st,
just plug your guitar straight into the amp and find the sound you want.
set all your EQ settings to 12'o clock, then tweak it from there onwards
it's the easiest approach
when you have got the settings that you want on your amp
put your efx in the path and tweak the EQ-ing of the efx without disturbing the amps setting.
well this approach may be hazardous to indecisive fools like me....
also a pain it the bontot if you have couple of diffrent guitars, eg. hums and single coils

metallica slalu scoop mid... so, ko cumer bagi mid kat EQ rendah... but JANGAN terlalu rendah... dan jaga treble ko, jangan sampai terlalu tinggi sehingga mencucuk tlinga...

thx alot.. btw, abit weird la.. the original distortion sounds really not nice.. emm i tot last time i tried the HCM before and it sounds nice? I uess it must be with my settings perhaps?
and compare to Marshall MG100.. this MXD120 seems not as loud as the Marshall

aku pakai amp yg same... tapi skali ngan hcm 4x12 cabinet ...
kalau nak sound ala2 metallica (metal) mmg takleh dpt la bro pakai boss MD & amp tuh... kurang2 pun pakai metal zone atau behringer GDI ok laaa... amp punye distort tuh mmg tak best langsung... tapi kalu nak best carik satu preamp laaa.. v-amp 2 pun ok...

yerp... tapi prob aku dah fixed lepas aku pakai v-amp 2... connect kat FX return (amp EQ bypass)... then pakai EQ kat v-amp ... baru ada ummmppphh!!
