learn your scales buddy..simple as that..unless kau nak start slapping or stuff like that la...but kalau kau reti scales guitar it's the same thing je...

yeah.. i learn a lot from the guitar tutorial that ridzi, omar, bode dan yg lain lain post.. thanks a lot.. but cam teknik slapping, walking ker.. ader saper reti..bantu ler saya jadi bassist yg hensem..

walking tu bukan just going through scales? asalkan in tune belasah jer..hehe...pentatonic scale is always good for walking.. i think..
actually i'm not really sure what walking is hehe..

betul lar tue omar.. banyak scale leh apply kat mana mana instrument.. cuma banyak technque yg aku tak tau pasal bass.. cam ghosting lar.. slapping lar.. jentik ler.. tue yg kureng..

Nak belajar Bass yang lazat and simple, dengar Paul McCartney's work in the Beatles, tu dah cukup dah hehehehehe
The essence of playing Bass is to keep the groove locked in with the Bass Drums, kalau dapat main simple 8 notes pun, or 4, or 2 or even one note, but kalau on time locked in with Bass drums dah cukup |

Yup, it's all about the groove.
Next time kau jamming, ask your drummer to play a 4/4 Beat, and then kau cuba main an Open E on the E string for the first 3 notes, and then on the fourth note play an E one octave higher on the A string but on the 7th fret, just lock in with him.
Manyak syiok wooo, and then ask him to increase tempo, decrease tempo, but hold on tight and lock with the Bass Drum - that's how you learn to groove.
It sound bodoh and simple, but that's the essence of playing Bass, locked in on the groove and keeping time, and driving the rhythm and melody. |

Yang pentingnya, you as a Bass Guitar Player kena develop your own style, innovate your playing from emulating your Bass heroes. (siapa Bass heroes kau? aku punya Paul McCartney, John Entwistle of the Who and John Paul Jones of Led Zep).
How to innovate? Identify 3 of your fave Basslines from your favourite songs, carik tab dia, or try to learn the Basslines, bila dah rasa dah dapat nail it, or hampir nail it, try it in a different tempo, try it in a different key, and then try combing the ideas from the 3 songs.
BUT yang penting, a Bassist should always be a teamplayer and not think of soloing, biorkan the lead guitarist do all the soloing. The Bass and Drums are the rhythm section that make the lead guitarist & lead singer look good |

yes.. agree.. bagi depa solo.. bass heroes aku.. collin greenwood radiohead, Krist Novoselic - nirvana dan Jason Newsted metalica.. aku suka cara collin greenwood main bass dalam lagu talk show host.. cam main rest rest.. simple.. so basiclly bassist takyah nak do wonders sangat ler yek?
