first thing.. what kind of music do u play? metal? rock? hardcore? emo? blues? ballad?
second thing.. why r u starting a band if none of them really have the creativity of composing own material...
DIY bro.. DIY..
u wouldnt wanna be another "boy-in-band" rite?
*sorry for the harsh word.. just something to ponder..* _________________

agreed.. but dont be to dependent on u can write anything out of nothing.. it's true sometimes, but sometimes u need something called "composer's block" or "songwriter's block"... u get ot rite?
for lyrics.. for me.. read a lot of books.. worked well for me..
for song.. dont be afraid to try any wacky chord.. somehow it makes sense sometime..
gud luck! _________________

Ah, so u play SOAD Cool..
Why dont u find a riff, then each time u have one record it. From there maybe you can improvise or join it with other riffs to make a song.
For the lyrics yes perhaps you should read a lot, and also find a theme. It will make you easier to look out for more ideas.
I'm not a pro la rite, just sharing with u guys _________________ My I-Band Profile :: Click here ::
