The X is Back in Malaysia

Yes its true!!! X Games Asia is back in Malaysia! This year the event will be held at the Sunway Lagoon Surf Pool from 12 May – 14 May 2006 and it promises to be bigger and better than ever! As always, Pop Shuvit is back to rock the X Games and this time they have brought along some friends. For the first time, ESPN together with Shuvit Management and YZ International will be working together with event sponsors KIA to bring to the X Games some of Malaysia’s best homegrown acts to give fans an X Games they will never forget.
“Music has always been a BIG part of X-treme sports culture and something that Pop Shuvit has been trying to inculcate over the years in Asia. ESPN has seen this potential after the success of the last music fest at the games albeit a small one and this year they have agreed to bring it back BIGGER and BETTER. We are also playing a bigger role this year as we are not just playing at the music fest but also involved in the management and production.” says Pop Shuvit Frontman Moots!
The KIA Music Fest will play a more prominent role in this years Asian X Games as ESPN has incorporated the music stage as part of its event layout and schedule. This years X Games will feature competition interspersed with live music to make it a more fun day out for X-treme sports fans. It is also an opportunity to introduce the X Games to music fans who want to catch their favourite acts onstage.
The line-up for this year boasts 15 great live acts featuring the best of Hip Hop and Rock that Malaysia has to offer with X games Stalwarts Pop Shuvit, Ska Punk favourites Gerhana Ska Cinta and Indie Kings OAG along with veteran Hip Hop acts such as Teh Tarik Crew taking centre stage to ensure a rockin X Games. It is also an X Games first for R&B king Reshmonu who will be headlining the bumper concert on Saturday night.
“We want to offer the best of both worlds in one showcase, not a separate presentation of rock and hip hop. This is a unified music festival. The acts performing offer something to cater for all tastes. We have everything from R&B to Ska punk and even a Triple-DJ set with B Boys!” says Yaniz Merican of YZ International
The tri-DJ set consists of DJ Fuzz from Teh Tarik Crew, DJ Uno from Pop Shuvit and DJ Cza from Ahli Fiqir going by the monicker ‘Stylustiks’and will be opening the music fest every day with their unique turntablism skills backed by the Battle Phatnatics B Boy crew.
Canadian hip hop duo Darkson who are the official ESPN act for the Asian X Games will be performing onstage throughout the 3 day event.

Sat, May. 13th - Pop Shuvit - Sunway Lagoon - Petaling Jaya, - The Asian X Games is back. Lots of actions from athletes and also performance from bands! Pop Shuvit will be performing while Shuvit Management is working hand in hand with YZ international to organize the music fest portion. See u all there...its a free concert.
Fri, May. 19th - Pop Shuvit - KLCC Convention Center - KL, - The Malay Mail Trade Launch gig.
Sat, Jun. 3rd - Pop Shuvit - MMU - KL, - Finally, an MMU gig. This is for the Battle of the Bands competition. Pop Shuvit is the guest artiste.
Sat, Jun. 10th - Pop Shuvit - Sunway Lagoon - Petaling Jaya, - This is the Seventeen Summer Splash event at Sunway Lagoon...its a beach party. Time to surf...
