i know you're also hypnotized by Guthrie Govan after seeing play live in front of your eyes.
i define him as the Mozart of the guitar world. |

sorry dude nothing personal...
but how do you judge someone as the greatest guitarist.
every guitarist has his/hers own thing goin on, its diffrent from one person to the other...
its like comparing a Limo to a school bus....
one guitarist might play well in the context of the type of the music he/she plays, but to compare his/her playing to another guitarist who plays a totally diffrent thing, is out of just, because every guitarist has his/her way to doin things
it just my take, but i'm willing to hear other ppl take in this.
Cheers. _________________ "Jean Claude Van Damme is back. In the same crap you've seen over and over, and over again"

before i explain anything..you should already know ..tone is in the fingers..thats what seperates paul gilbert, eric johnson, malmsteen ..etc
what i read in a shred forum is..Guthrie Govan is the best because he can immitates any guitarist finger tone...go check out his eric johnson, mattias ia eklund clips ..i think i downloaded some in the forum before..it sounded exactly the same with them..
not to mentioned his own amazing technique and his fine phrasing..
thats why when people say..if eric johnson , vai suppose to play in a concert and suddenly they met an accident . nobody can replace them..but the closest is guthrie
i think this has been posted in ultimate guitar or something..lazy to find..zzz _________________ gapnap.com

wow.... i really failed to see it that way...
you have a very good point...
when fazrul said that he's not the greatest, to me it automatically sounded like that there's someone else that he thinks is a better guitarist.
sorry bout that.my bad...
sorry my 1st post was too many words to convey a point...
my point is this: you cant group a bunch of guitarist togather, then pick out one of them as the greatest...it's bullcrap
thats the point....
so sorry bout that folks, i'm bad at conveying a point and choosing the words to convey it...

seperti dlm original record.
personally, aku yg tgk dia dr video pun menganga je,kagum...inikan plak diorng2 yg tgk live depan mata |

sorry again, because i never heard of gutrie govan..

Impossible to know Guthrie from just a few tunes, since his mastery covers a very wide area...from jazz, blues, metal, rock, prog rock and the list goes on...the best is to find as many clips of his playing as possible to discover his true versatility.
imho, his playing is less metal now compared to the days when I used to see him play live...and that's his choice of course(a musician always goes through changes), but I kinda missed his crazy aggressive vibrato that he used to do those days |
