you're right on ALL counts! I actually described the piece in another post in the "Guitar Stuff" section, this is just something quick done while experimenting with Band-In-A-Box software.

and it's NOT analog!you're right again. my cheap boss multieffects was used.

I'm impressed that you can feel the "background music" nature of it....that is actually a feature of the Indian raga (scale) I used for the basic melody, this scale is supposed to be for meditating/reflecting on the meaning of life, I was just fooling around with it but sort of discovered it can connect to a Blues-type scale if I just added a m7b5 chord into a simple minor progression.

this is what i wrote in the other thread:
"being sober on a weekend is a terrible thing

trying out Band-In-A-Box software, some jazz-Waltz style with drummer kicking bass-drum in all the "wrong" spots, then my stomach upset from eating at daun-pisang restaurant so put in a Hindustani-ish melody, then cannot get chord progressions to fit the melody but managed to put in a m7b5 chord to allow the movement, then tried to play a Bluesy guitar alternating with the Indian melody.

quick simple recording, stratocaster into Bossmulti-effects (compressor +reverb)"

sorry if this kind of stuff is too boring for i-banders. guess i'm too old and out-of touch with the current music scene Sad

hahaha you mean the bass-drum pedal? yeah, drum pedal tu memang giler betul, tapi benda tu akutak dapat kawal lagi, pasal I just ambik preset backing style dari software Band-In-A-Box....aku cuba pilih style yg merenung sikit tapi drum pedal tu memang ada hantu dia sendiri....very interesting bila nak solo, pasal tak dap predict bila dia nak masuk and bila dia nak kuat.

anyway, benda tu baru preliminary stage, banyak missed/faulty notes. pasal tone tu, aku cuma hentam aje dgn BOSS gadget compressor+reverb, lucky to get a "sweet spot".

I'm experimenting with other types of music and other signal paths, very frustrating because so many things to learn.

But for now I am just trying to get some basic song-ideas right.... tak peduli sound and solo and quality dulu, cuma nak cuba bikin lagu tu acceptable overall.....and I'm trying to write a broad range of styles hahahhaa memang aku dah giler, tapi cuba jugak......

here is a song i'm working on: very raw, but trying to mix techno with trash + middle-east solos + lyrics about Poverty and War in Darfur.....

otai kalau main mmg ada cerita..fuhh..

my only suggestion, if you could try to put more ambient to the guitar track, mesti rasa lebih impact.. cadangan je..
