PETALING JAYA: The police have said that DNA tests on the body found stuffed in a sports bag on Monday in Petaling Jaya show that it is that of missing girl Nurin Jazlin Jazimin.
Petaling Jaya OCPD ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed on Thursday said that DNA tests have so far indicated that the body found in a shophouse at Jalan PJS1, Petaling Jaya Utama is that of Nurin, 8, who had been missing since Aug 20.
At Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Nurin's father Jazimin Abdul Jalil, 33, a taxi driver still denied the body was that of his daughter, reports BERNAMA.
"I am Nurin's father ... I know my daughter better than anyone else. My heart is saying the body is not my daughter.
"If police ask me to take the body, I will accept, I will perform the funeral rites and bury it. But I want the police to pursue the search for Nurin because I know Nurin is still safe out there," he said, speaking to reporters outside the HKL mortuary.
Jazimin added that he was sure the body was not Nurin because of the teeth and the scar that Nurin had.
According to Jazimin, Nurin's teeth did not have gaps between them and she also had a scar on her thigh.
Nurin's mother Norazian Bistaman, 35, said she was ready to accept what the authorities tell her.
"What else can I say. The DNA test shows she is my daughter. I will accept the will of God.
"As a mother, I still hope the body is not my daughter's. Which mother will accept the reality that her daughter was raped and killed brutally.
"Only God knows the extent of my sadness and grief," she said in tears.
Norazian said this year's Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations would be the most joyous and meaningful in her life in the event Nurin was found safe and sound.
"In fact, we've already bought Nurin's Hari Raya dress and I will patiently wait for her return," she added.

confusing betul.... how can the dna be wrong? or is it a pausible cause? how can the mother not know her own child? u know how your child looks like no matter what

it might be:-
-flaw in DNA test (contaminated sample etc)
-the parents are in denial (refer to Along Spoon case)
plus we hv to remember cadaver tends to degrade over time
mayat bole berubah rupa,what we thought a body of a black man might actually be a body of a white man yg dah mereput for more than 2 weeks.
The scar on the thigh might hv diminished,sbb kulit dah jd sgt pucat
tang gigi tu,aku piki mungkin the parents themselves cannot really remember wether her teeth mmg xde gap atau sebaliknya.

i think it's either parents are in denial
or police are pressurized to finish up the case
most likely the first one..

if u look closely there is a similarity, plus, when the face is bloated knowing the girl has diabetes, sure it is beyond recognizable and also the gums will loosen.
but real parents or not, still i rather them believe that their child is still missing, pitiful how tis young girl died..
its repeating the time when during the 80's where there were too many cases of child abduction and sold as prostitutes and beggars in thailand and other neighbouring countries. certainly the world is getting colder..
but i must say, the murderer is a women.. if it is a man, the sexual assault would be otherwise and odd thing is, it happened in the pasar malam avery crowded one and she did not scream..
it could be someone they have known or someone have been eye-ing on the little girl for quite some time already

let's wait for the second DNA test. The percentage of it to go wrong is very remote. I think Omar is right... the father is in denial while the mother seems to be different a bit... I think she already recognized her from the time the went to the morgue... murder in the rue morgue...

member2 aku yang ada anak2 kecik pun risau. semua tempat dah tak safe. ingat tak kes budak pompuan yg kena raped n murdered kat post guard tnb, broad daylight pun boleh jadi. iskh iskh..
besides my deepest condolence to nurin's family, aku nak tgk apa akan jadi kat mak bapak nurin. ari tu kan IPG kata nak tgk possibility of charging the parents for negligent which led to the killing. nazri aziz pun cakap benda sama dlm paper ari ni. |
