The Fridays and Kapal Selam are the confirmed bands from Peninsula Malaysia that will be playing along with NSP.
By the way, The Drives is an indie band from Sarawak. Check them out as well. They could be the next big thing too.
Cheers |

Updated the flyer again. Bittersweet has been added to the list.
Regarding the incident of punk attack at Paul's Place, I am a bit doubtful about any article of Harian Metro these days. They're full of rubbish false articles.
"Malam kelmarin" should be Monday night (21 Aug 2006) with the assumption that the article was published on 22 Aug 2006. Was there any activity at Paul's Place on a Monday night? I am a bit doubtful because based on my experience when I was with Giggers, I could not recall anyone ever hold any gig/event on Monday night. Anyway, I will find out soon whether this is another Harian Metro bullshit. |

it seems to be true.. i have checked with a friend of a friend who attended the show.. and the reason wa because it was a punk fight
and when the police came to intervene, they attacked he police
that is why it happened..
As i would like advice the oganisers... CONTROL your crowd.. one bad gig ruins the whole basket...
so no worries siang.. its pretty safe,, as long the bands know how to control their crowd... especially when u r playing in Paul's place....
but again have nothing to do with Paul.. someone alerted the police when the fight started _________________ "Thus let my enemy's blood be spilled

Hey peeps!
Itching for that one good gig? not the boring educational bullshit that it feels like you are in your history class back in high school, studying for SEJARAH MALAYSIA. So why is going to a gig good for you? well it gives you the hope to marry cute musician who will play songs for you, while you stand at your balcony reminiscing to it.. yeah right.....
orait, cut to the chase.
Paul's place will be having a come back event for the band, Nice Stupid Playground flying all the way from Sarawak to let you have a feel ranging from Alternative to POP on September 1st, 2006, THIS FRIDAY from 8:30 to 12pm.
Sharing with the same playpen will be Bittersweet at the sandbox making naked mermaids, Kapal Selam hanging on the monkey bar and The Fridays playing their masak masak (I heard of em wears woman clothing on stage). So come one, come all and PLAY IN MY PLAYGROUND!, i got good swings or would you like to try the see-saw?
Have fun ya'll i heard theres food being served.. hmmm mmmm..... _________________ "Thus let my enemy's blood be spilled

On behalf of Kapal Selam and support staff for the gig, I would really want to say thanks to the band manager of Nice Stupid Playground, Clint for everything and kudos for the awesome, unforgettable and nostalgic show, he had put his heart and soul in it.
It was really cool to actually meet up with Riki former Nice Stupid Playground and now playing in another band, The Drives, after hearing him perform in a video clip back in 1998, stereo girl. The Drives is a pretty awesome band, although the drummer looks exactly like Arif Akhir.
To the rest of the bands, The Fridays! Really awesome kick ass tambourine breaking and rolling all over the floor performance and managed to maintain a tight pitching on the vocals! Awesome show…
So far, the gig was like a desert, one sugar after the other, bittersweet so rock kapak! With their 70’s style dressing, and it was great to see Owen Nicholas performing and thanks for the CD..
Lastly, thanks to the supporters who came and stayed for the entire show and the authorities for their support for the show, Nazrin and his chic, Ayed and his motley crew, Brandon.. i swear i will remember you! Tasha and her gourmet cooking feeding the crowd and to Adrian from Telebury thanks for coming out at 2 am and giving me a lift.. thanks so much!
It was an honor having to meet all of you!.. and yeah last but not least, save the best for the last.. SIANG!...... torr cheeeh

NSP especially, they are definitely one of the best indie performers out there, its not too late to catch them at the curve before they fly back to kuching guys!. the drives, kapal selam, owen nicholas, bittersweet (didnt catch fridays though) were all great showmen. kudos to the organizer. _________________ The New Puritans - http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/tnp |
