hi
just wondering whether starting business in providing rental audio equipment, music studio & occasionally doing 1 or 2 pc gig at wedding (for example) can be made into full time income generator?
pls share your idea

hmmm dulu aku selalu jamming kat tempat yg ada wat rental equipment mcm ni la...aku kenal la org tua yg jaga tmpat tuh...reputation tu penting...
e.g org sebut je nama ajay...oh...terus org akan kata "ajay yg wat rental equipmen music tu ye"...sebut je knduri...org akan kata..."owh kita amik kihdmat ajay la....jgn amik Jiro punya"...contoh je la....

jgn la plak nanti makin maju makin teruk plak barang yg org nak rent tu... itu boleh menjatuhkan reputasi...nak2 plak kalo nasib tak baik ada plak company baru bukak...ada brg baru...huhu... 
itu la yg jadi kat tokey kedai yg aku ckpkan sblm nih...sblm tu dia maju...lama2 brg pon makin lusuh...harga sama...servis quality makin drop...so..org msti akan cari brg baru ye tak?

aku punya idea actually nak buat jamming studio yg ada small cafe bagi jammers lepak2. selalunya lepas jamming lepak kat kedai mamak kan? so kita extend lagi bagi dia org stay kat studio kasi masyuk lebih . family-oriented studio la boleh suruh anak2 tgk tv/video/baca magazine sambil ayah berjamming. lepas tu equipment boleh rent utk kenduri or any event la. kalu nak performance, kita maybe carikan performers or DJ. untuk promo, rasanya tak susah nak buat leaflets masuk dlm pos box & lately ni pun ada company yg hantar brochure iklan tu masuk posbox. boleh masuk kat situ..

There is a downside. It can be a potential pitfall to take on a job whose scope exceeds that of your own capabilities. If your company doesn't have the logistical strength or if your staff does not have adequate technical know-how, it will very likely have negative impact on your company's profile.
I have personally encountered events whereby it was blindingly obvious that the rental provider was totally imcompetent for the task at hand, and that they got the job because they were the lowest bidder.
Evaluate your own abilities, if the job is do-able but your inventory is slightly lacking, then yes, you can rent from other providers. But if it's beyond your handling abilities, refer to job to another rental company who can better meet your client's needs.
That same company you gave the referral to will in turn refer smaller jobs they turned down to you. Good relationships with your larger competitors are far more valuable than trying to score a well-paying contract (and not being able to measure up to the job).
