WE, a group of Malaysian musicians devoted to the cause of making the world a better place through music, are proud to announce that our album, 'Tribute To Mardana', is now available for free download or streaming: http://www.i-bands.net/audiovault/Tribute_To_Mardana
'Tribute To Mardana' is a spiritual world-fusion album dedicated to Bhai Mardana (1459-1534) -- http://www.sikh-history.com/sikhhist/gurus/mardana.html -- the Muslim rebab player who accompanied Sikhism founder Guru Nanak.
"This is our way of giving back to the community," says the project's prime motivating force Jagmohan Singh, a.k.a. Jaggu, The Last of the Punjabi Hippies.
"We hope to reach out to people all over the world, especially the younger generation, with this musical message of peace, hope, love and harmony."
The album features a large lineup of guests, including TV personality Asha Gill, singer Hardev Kaur, didgeridoo player Justin and bagpipist Pervinder.
There are nine original tracks on the album which combine traditional instruments with modern electronic beats.
"By mixing disparate musical elements, we hope to foster universal brotherhood through the magic of rhythm," adds Jaggu.
The album, produced by RS, was for the most part recorded on a portable hard-disk multitrack recorder.
We wish to thank the good folks of i-bands.net for letting us share our music with you.
Please feel free to download the music as many times as you want. We hope you derive as much pleasure listening to the songs as we did creating them. |
