thom yorke has released a solo record (surprise2) ahead of radiohead's much anticipated 7th album...... reviews range from brilliant to bull....
i have the feeling that all the critical praise is due to the fact that he's in radiohead (who imo are the best band of all time period)..
i've listened to it myself and i must say that i havent made up my mind..
anyone else has an opinion? |

Nazmy:
I like 'The Eraser' and 'Harrowdown Hill'. It's interesting to see what people's comments are on Thom Yorke's album 'cause it's not easily defined or put into a certain genre.
I guess I stand on Radiohead's side and give this one a thumbs up. You checked on Thom's solo acoustic performance of 'The Clock' on Youtube yet?:

A very aptly named blog man. Hope Thom Yorke supporters don't go after him for that, hehe _________________

Frankly speaking, starting from OK Computer I lost interest in Radiohead. Some of the songs just sound weird to me and they make no sense to me. I just don't know how to appreciate them. However, I still find interesting songs now and then. No, I don't hate Radiohead. In fact, I love the band. I still continue buying their albums even though I have lost interest in majority of their songs. Yes, I am as weird as Radiohead now. I am a shithead
I heard some of the songs from Thom's album via Red FM (Thanks to Daryl Goh). Personally, I think the songs are weirder than Radiohead's. I prefer to stay away from his solo album completely this time. Sorry, Thom. |
