dude yeah...I was thinking the same thing.
most of the stuff in the new site will be RSS-enable.
the gig and events listing for example will no longer be taken from malscene. we're going to maintain our own seperate DB using Joomla gig calendar which has RSS.
have few other things also like news, articles. Was planning that bloggers can make use of i-bands content.
