hello guys..
gitar aku neck humbucker die mcm bising la.. mcm single coil ade distort.. tak tau la btol ke tak.. aku bukannye banyak pengalaman dalam tukar2 pikap ni.. tapi humbucker kat bridge ok je.. aku pasang ibanez infinity nye pikap kat gitar gio aku ni.. wiring aritu buat kat kedai..
sifus, you guys have any suggestions and solutions? |

bising camne tu, most probably microphonic feedback if your hb not wax potted. itupun kalo ko main dengan volume yang kuat.

| bunyi picking aku ketare sangat.. yang klak klak tu.. humming gak.. bunyi picking tu hilang bile volume knob kat gita stengah.. tapi kat bridge hye humbucker tak jadi camni.. sebab wiring ke? |

bro - kalau bising tu, pergi balik kedai yg buat tu lah...maybe wayer ground putus ke apa ke...
pickup nak kasi buat wax potted senang ke nak buat sendiri?
on another note -> i just installed a stock jackson hb PU that i got from budak ibands sini to my replace my stock ibanez ex korea PU ...ok ler kot sound dia...tapi cool coz pu ni ada logo 'jackson'..hehe...
PU jackson ni jenis petak, so takdeler muat sgt dalam frame plastic stock pu aku...kena kikis plastic tu sikit kasi muat...sume ni buat kat guitar store hartamas in one day je...fee pun ok. so now i have a frankenstein guitar...love it! |

Betul cakap silbi maybe ade wayar putus, ataupun wiring tak betul menyebabkn masalah grounding. ko boleh bukak tengok. Kalau setakat wiring sikit buat rugi je gi kedai. Kalau ade solder iron tu boleh buat under 5 mins.
Bunyik klak-klak tu besela, pandai2 main ngan amp knobs, roll off treble. Roll off tone pot guitar ko skali. Boleh juga cuba string oil macam fastfret.
Wax-potting senang je kalau ade proper tool & material.

fretted bros,
guys, all comments are possible and good advices. one angle to look at is that whether the pickup has 4 split wiring..ini tricky sikit la, mungkin wiring dia tu dah phase ka, parallel ka atau best part check the reading using multitester, paling safe..kadang2 pickup humbucker tu mati sebelah..worst kalu, both is also dead! kalau wiring silap, boleh repair..kalau grounding putus, boleh sambung lagi..kalau pickup mati...ini kes serious la bro. used pickups inilah risiko dia. kadang2 ko simpan kat tempat panas macam dalam kereta pon dia boleh kojol...pergh! aku beli atau jual used pickups pakai multitester. both parties can see...same goes to speakers.

aku rasa kalu wiring hantar balik kedai yg buat..tak kena charge kot..
pickup pun boleh kojol...ye ke? for all u know, i might have been buying kojol pickups without knowing it all this while...hmmm...that wud suck.
so any good sites to learn about how to check this before aku buta2 beli pickup lagi? |

multitester la bro, kalo tak ade, pinjam la sekejap. kedai repair guitar mesti ada, mamat letronik pon ada. ini la paling safe la bagi aku. sound sedap tak sedap tu no 2. hidup tu je mau tau..jangan kojol sudah!

dah 2 kali aku gi kat kedai tu.. mule2 die cakap aku nye bridge buat sound humbucker.. pastu wiring HB kat neck die buat single coil.. ade ke camni? aku yang baru gi lam bab tuka2 pikap ni ye je lah.. coz tak penah denga.. so, the second time.. aku anta balek kat kedai tu, suroh la abang tu buat wiring HB balek..
mase test gita macam sound die dah normal je, bile dah lame2 kat bilik baru perasan yang ade gak bising.. coz bridge pikap tak de bunyi lansong, just note yg kite tekan je kalo distort.. kalo gi jam tak denga, kot surrounding bising kot, tp humming tetap ade..
ke mati sebelah yang macam abg brownwoof cakap? Sori kalo banyak tanye.. hehe..  |

fretted bro,
single coil wiring memang ada noise 60 cycle hum. humbucker tak ada (needs another coil to phase out the hum). noise macam mana bro cakap ni, kalau grounding lain kes lak. kalau pickup depan ko tu mati sebelah, dah tak bole dihumbuckerkan lagi. jadi single aje boleh...

maybe neck kau HB tapi dia wiring jadi single?...tu ler pasal noisy sikit...tapi kalau ko tak suruh dia buat camni, apasal dia buat pulak kan. hmm...
aku rasa any single coil noise dia kat rumah memang lagi bising coz kat rumah banyak intereference, tv la, astro ler, pc ler, radio ler...esp kalau loop letrik kau share dgn tv and pc...tapi ni problem aku ler...dunno about others. kat kedai single coil punye bising acceptable lah...kat rumah sakit hati buyni dia...tu yg gua stick tu HB je kalau boleh.
btw - aku baru tahu gitar biasa yg ada pu neck humbucker boleh mod jadi single coil switching yg jenis pull off knob tu...next project gua mahu bikin camni...saje gatal. |

I suggest sape2 nak buat coil tapping (split hb jd sc), research dulu type/make/model pickups yg sedap kalo buat coil tapping. Byk aftermarket pickup yg ade 4 conductor wiring, tp byk jugak yg x sedap kalo split jd single coil. Simple reason is pickup hb tu sedap sbb dia hb, bkn 2 single coil yg sedap. Tp kalo saje2 nak test/experiment, buat je la n g'luck, hehe...

Aku stuju. Memang betul, kengkadang ada humbuker tak sesuai utk split coil. Biasanya, contoh macam humbuker dimarzio, biasanya utk split coil, keupayaan noise canceling akan tiada, Kecuali stack humbuker macam HS-2 dan HS-3. Tapi utk both series or parelel hum wiring still masih noise canceling.
