bros & all,
I guess its been a while and dah ah lama rasanya tak view in da forum. Ok to cut it short now i wanted to have a PC suitable for Audio Recording, I have always been a hardware kinda guy sebab menggong sangat to use the PC.
(History) I do have a Digital Multi Track & Synth Work Station... tapi sebab dah tua ni my drum pattern still boring and lifeless so I open up to the world of pc.
And I have personally tried the BFD and guitar rig ..... = Wow .
What would your suggestion be, I am open for any suggestion.
As for Soundcard I have narrowed down to M-Audio(firewire).
Questions :-
Given a Chance a budget of RM 2K for these 4 items :- (Clone PC)
a) Processor (dual core?amd?)
b) Mother Board (?????)
c) RAM (????)
d) Hard Disk (????)
Do I need a dedicated Graphic Card??
Or Just get the Dell Dimension 5150 package (Yg selalu dlm paper tu)
your input is much appreciated.
PC expert pls help.
regards

not an expert, but the following setup works fine with me....
Yang penting : CPU & RAM & Soundcard
pentium-4 (processor 524) 3.06GHz
1GB DDR2 RAM
2 hard drive, each 80GB (1 untuk boot up and benda2 MSoffice etc, 1 lagi purely for audio stuff)
yang lain2 not so important i think. lepas kilat sambar my PC last month, aku beli one of those "stock pc" kat Megabuy (boleh ansuransur!) and got all the specs @ RM1988. ada DVD writer lagi! (brand Acer je)....
It works smooth (so far), with Nuendo2.0 + Guitar Rig2.0 + FruityLoops running simultaneously (of course not running berjuta layers of guitars la). |

thx bros,
Shit it true, since joining the Ibands it has open up my view on PC recording, its actually just need another excuse to buy "gadgets", ahak ahak....
yeah been in that boat of cables yg berselirat racks etc etc ... shit the world of computers .... One(1) softwares (guitar rigs/pirated rm 6) = rm thousands of hardwares.
But guess what I still keep all those things... nak jual or trade sayang bangat.
At least now the wife tak leh bising sangat just tak lah bersepah sangat...
Ok Mr Record Producer Man Whats next ???
PC = Check
Softwares = Check
soundcard = check on the way
gear = check
materials = ????? (malas!!!)
I guess aB, Your Syndrome "you have all the things now but no materials" is menular ban berjangkit la.
dude thx for the input.
regards

dulu masa kat UK aku selalu envy mamat2 saleh yg dok layan music sequencing pakai Atari punye system...rasam macam cool giler. THe best part you can get em for cheap from Loot or cash comverters those day...
my englsh housemate dulu pun layan Atari gak...he did some pretty basic sequencing with his sytem...he hooked it up to a small monochrome tv...looked really awesome those days...
AB / Jengo - korang boleh bukak museum audio hardware siot...haha...
tapi vintage stuff kena simpan...mana ler tahu appreciate value
read somewhere that some bands overseas are now picking up old vitage synths to enhance their live playing sound and capabilities...i guess looks a lot more fun than having just one notebook on stage... |
