THE FLY (CHINA)
The Fly was formed in 1993 by a group of avant-garde artistes of China, included the now front man of the band – Feng Jiang Zhou.
By the end of the 1995, The Fly had already developed their skills and talents, making their way from a Beijing Punk band to their current nation-wide status as the most adventurous and radical band in Beijing underground gigs. And during that period, The Fly has became the most controversial band in the country with its sharp satire, deliberate self-destruction and a very different voice, which was described as “dirty”, “disorganized” and “bad”.
But in actual fact, their music was technically sophisticated and artistically powerful. Their current members also comprised of guitarist Koji Takahashi and bassist Atsushi Sato from Japan.
With their noisy, punk, underground, rebel image, The Fly together with the bands "No" and "Confucius Says" established a new generation of Chinese music.

LIM GIONG & STINGRAYS (TAIWAN)
Stingrays presently resided in both Taiwan and Singapore. Both now work in the computer's engineering fields and spend their time immersed at works when not immersed in the passions of music. Stingrays played techno music in all shades and colors, from hard to experimental to down tempo and beyond, as well as some elements of house. They are quite ambitious to expose quality music to the dance floor through their own form of expression, and always improvising 100%. Stingrays deejay with integrated trickery and fast paced mixing to accentuate the right energy and atmosphere. Atmosphere is a crucial aspect of music.
Lim Giong’s musical career began with the release of his debut album, “Marching Forward”, in 1990. In his early days, he accompanied singing with musical instruments giving rousing performances of folk-pop music.
While recording his third album, “Entertainment World” in U.K in 1993, his musical ideology and composing style went through a radical change. His compositions become increasingly infused with digital music. In 1997 he took on the job of a DJ at a radio broadcasting station. His musical style has evolved from drum and bass, break beat and ambient, to more experimental and freestyle work.
KING LY CHEE (HONG KONG)
King Ly Chee formed in May 1999 to give the local music community a good kick in the ass. They are also widely recognized as the pioneers of Hong Kong Hardcore (HKHC) by promoting hardcore through the singer/guitar player of King Ly Chee’s own Chinese/English zine called “Start From Scratch”, which included interviews with various hardcore bands and labels around the world with the ultimate aim of giving kids a chance to learn the essence of hardcore.
King Ly Chee’s sonic landscape is a blend of the music that they grew up listening to: punk rock, hardcore, metal and indie-rock. They have always based their sounds on the energy and message of the hardcore culture combining socially conscious lyrics aiming to provoke thought amongst the younger generation of Hong Kong. The music and lyrics come straight from the blood, sweat and tears that flows within each band member resulting in their explosive performances, upon where the differentiation of band and audience becomes a finely thin line.
With the work ethic that is characteristic to hardcore, they’ve done several tours in neighboring Asian countries and have also done countless interviews throughout the world.
In October 2000, they independently released their first album, We Are Who We Are, which was simultaneously released in Taiwan and was also distributed in Japan. In December 2003, they released their second album, Stand Strong. In September 2004, Stand Strong will be released in Taiwan as well where King Ly Chee has developed a big following.
