Hi Guys!

Since everybody loves good food, all i-bands members are most welcome to submit information on where to get good and reasonably priced local food and delicacies in both Peninsular and East Malaysia and Singapore in this thread, so that everyone can enjoy them. To start with, here're some places where you can get them:

Johore
1. Muar: Jalan Sulaiman near Pusat Kaca Mata Menara – satay (beef, chicken, tripe, etc., mee rebus (Jawa) and good coffee. Served from morning till noon, daily.
2. Batu Pahat: Main Road (bankers' row) Gerai Man Cathay (asam pedas, tahu goreng, etc.). Served between 9am and 3 pm. daily.

3. Batu Pahat: Pusat Niaga Benteng Peserai opposite Putra Hospital near bridge over Sg Batu Pahat. (nasi bariani, go to the second stall from the left).

4. Batu Pahat: Near Hospital Batu Pahat (nasi bariani).
5. Air Hitam, 100 metres from the Yong Peng/Air Hitam juction heading towards the Air Hitam toll plaza (putu bambu and fresh kelapa muda).

Singapore
1. Zam Zam Restaurant, 697, 699 North Bridge Road near Sultan Mosque on Arab Street (murtabak, nasi bariyani). Closed at 8:00pm on weekdays and at 11:00pm on weekends and public holidays.
2. Pariaman Warong Nasi, 738 North Bridge Road next to Sultan Mosque on Arab Street, within a stone’s throw from Zam Zam (nasi padang). Come early, around 12:00pm because by 2:00pm. everything's completely wiped out!.
3. Thasevi, Jalan Kayu (on the way to Seletar Air Base), (roti prata, the best in S'pore). 24 hours.
4. Geylang Wet Market (mee siam, rojak keling...err rojak singapore (that's what the S'poreans call it!), etc.). Up to late noon only.

I have also included Swee Lee's address (in the pic) just in case you want to find new guitars or gears in Singapore.

Hope to see more posts from you all, so that we know where to find good food at all the states in the country. Bon Appetit! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Another good (i personally think the best) asam pedas in batu pahat is located between jln rogayah and the river.
Click at the google map below, it its in the middle. To reach that place, at jln rogayah (from jln bakau condong), heading towards bus stand, observer a HI-STAR accessories shop on your right. Make right turn at the junction before HI-STAR and go straight until you reach a T junction. The asam pedas is located on your right! Very Happy. You can ssay that they serve nothing but asam pedas during lunchtime!

kalau kat Georgetown ni satu masalah utama bagi orang luar adalah mencari makanan yg NON-MAMAK. Punyalah susah nak cari, lagi2 belah malam.

Yes, you're right bro! Memang Mat Shah punya stall; agreed, it is better than the one near BP Hospital. Best regards. Smile
