Bole...depends on ape soundcard ko pakai.
Aku baru record drum pakai soundcard MOTU. 8 input with 8 pre amp. no mixer.
Ko nak mic up drum cam mane? Pakai mic cam mane? |

8 input with pre-amp?then ko balancing pkai ape ek bang?
aku cadang nak mic drum separti mana kalo kite main show tuh la.but proses tu dijalankan dlm soundproof room or studio jamming.
mic kat snare,kat dlm bass drum,kt tom2...ride rasenye x payah sbb dlu pnah ade show kecik2 aku main, ride dia x di micing pon.AKu tanya soundman knape dia ckp sbb ride bunyinya kuat..tp kalo dah 8 input soundcard ni sume leh micing arr~!
or ko ade cadangan micing mic yg lain spt yg ko gunakan?

Aku pakai MOTU old discontinued model la..tak tau berape harge.
ade banyak aundio interface with 8 pre amps out there.

hari tu aku micing. 1 kick,1 snare, 1hihats ,1 toms , 1 floor toms, dan 2 overhead . 7 semua sekali. track lapan masuk bass untuk guide drummer.
Ride ngan crash semua captured by the overhead mics only. tapi kalau nak control lebih on the ride bole mic jugak.
Hihat ngan overhead pakai condenser mic.Masalahnye Interface MOTU tu takde padd so hihat level super hot but i did't hear any clipping so still usable.

but try gak la nak mencarik soundcard yg sebegitu rupe
(kalau nak jual buleh la bgtau aku~ hehe)
so..selain menggunakan card sehebat begini,ade lg x care utk record drum yg boleh dilakukan dirumah?

try to use a cheap audio interface with just 2 inputs for the overheads..or maybe add another mic for the snare..it's just a tip to save some cash dude~~  |

dulu aku record pakai satu mic jer. cari placement yang best then just hantam.
Nak record satu band semua sekali pon bole macam tu
nice to play around with the Mic placement. But if u can try to invest on some equipment. Buat lagu susah susah, sound tak best, susah jugak orang nak layan.
BTW, wat kind of music u guys playing? |

so buleh gak la aku try2 mencarik natang tuhh nanti once ke KL
aku try nak mencube record actual drum using pc..so by the same time aku buleh blajar wat balancing n mixing2 sket..kalo ade multi channel soundcard so its equal to hav a mixer
lagu sendirik tu xde la ape sgt..skadar belajar bersama rakan2 |

lupa nak bgtau, try using AKG C1000s for the overheads(or any condenser mic)..and for the snare, try guna dynamic mic..such as Shure SM57..but these kind of mics are quite expensive but u'll get a good result..  |

Tak sama. Depends la ko pakai mixer ape.
the only way to have multi tracks of drums in ur pc is to get a soundcard with more inputs.
"Biasenye" kalau orang pakai mixer untuk drum ni die orang dah mix siap-siap drum to a stereo track then output masuk computer pakai soundcard yang ade stereo input. |

aku nak mengelakkan drum track tu jd stereo..pernah mencube sebegitu
tp nak mencube utk dptkan drum track tu as mono..memerlukan soundcard yg byk channel la kn?
kalo gunekan method DRUM-MIXER-PC drum track tu akn dah mix siap2 as 1 track n dah jd stereo
sbb ade membe yg berpengalaman bgtau aku kalo dia yg mixing dia x mau drum track tu as stereo
tu yg cube utk gunekan ilmu dia..blajar2 n korek2 dari dia
okeyh..so now aku akn cube usha2 soundcard yg byk channel inputnye

Yang aku rasa for now..option paling murah kalau nak dapat individual input bagi drums tracks is soundcard with more inputs.
There's other option also.
You can get a mixer/pre-amp with ADAT out and get a soundcard ADAT in(obviously )
ADAT protocol enables up to 8 tracks be send. So dengan satu optical cable bole masuk lapan track to soundcard yang ade ADAT in.
Kekadang tak semestinye kena ade bebanyak track untuk mixing drums. Banyak depends on mic placement or type of mic. Orang dulu buat album best pon pakai satu mic jer maybe sebab lagu pon best ..heh.
Tapi kalau nak drum sound "in your face type" lain cerite

ahaa..tu yg aku terlupe cerite..aku gunekan micing seting drum mcm yg bisasenye aku pkai kot
1 snare,1 tom,1 bass drum,1 floor,1 overhead
maybe laa begitu..kalo less mic then dpt nice pon ok..but prefer 5 mic cmtu kot
