Is an awesome metal album... my only complaint; Lars misplaced his damn toms.

Death Magnetic is a great comeback album. There are to many idiots who would like to think themselves as "experts". I'd like to think those people as "snobs" more like it. These are the people who can't even play a bloody note on the guitar, let alone give comments on guitar tone. I think James's guitar tone is spot on. Sure, it's different, but a tone with plenty of mids is most welcome in my church of thought.
“Death Magnetic is the musical equivalent of Russia’s invasion of Georgia — a sudden act of aggression from a sleeping giant.” - Rolling Stones
To me this sounds like Metallica are finally enjoying what they are doing again, sounds really honest.
For a 32 year old like me, who has been listening to Metallica since the beginning, I grew up - Just like Metallica has. |
