| The Secret is a grim song about isolation and estrangement. It was written a few years ago and the lyrics give a clear indication of what it's about. This version was the first version that has some slide guitar on it, which at the time was rejected by the producers. However when I played it recently I liked the rather threatening feel of the slide and the general use of delay and reverb to enhance the meaning of the song. It is dark but there is an excitement about the whole arrangement and production. Featuring Luke Mason on drums, Markiza on organ and Phil Davies on lead. |
