Qings & Kueens .: Click To Enter :. Qings & Kueens was officially formed in the forth quarter of 2001. Vima (vocals/guitars) and Paul (guitars) met way back in 1995 in school when they where classmates. They only discovered their love for music a year later and met a friend, Kevin (bass) who stayed in their neighborhood and played music as well. The three would jam weekly at a local playground, playing and learning songs that were popular on radio. Progressing in their various individual musical taste and style, the three played in several bands throughout their high school days. It was in mid-2001 that Vima and Paul decided to take their hobby to the next level and got Kevin to play bass with them. Introduced by James (Fallen Leaves), they met Jerry (drums) and they started to jam and make music. Together, they improved musically, starting out with playing simple tunes to more diverse arrangements. Fusing the jazz-influenced rhythm section of Kevin and Jerry and the more rock approach of Vima and Paul, Qings & Kueens’ music emphasizes on the melodic content and musical arrangement. The four has not stopped playing since they met and has made several performances at Acoustic Jams (organized by Peter Hassan), BSC and Soul Café. They also managed to get a third placing in the Asian Beat 2002 band competition organized by Yamaha. As a fairly new band, they will continue to play their brand of melodic-rock and hope to contribute to the local music industry in Malaysia. |
