Clumsy Ruby first got serious to play music together after finishing their high-school years in 2004. Before that they just jammed for fun since 2002 after school and on weekends. By that time, some bands already active in their area like Jellybelly, Strict Tease, Quiet Rot, etc. who indirectly influenced them to get serious with the band. Apis, Afik, Rizie and Bulloh first started jamming until Apis recruited Shoqi, (his blood brother) to play the bass and Rizie to pick up the second guitar. They weren't serious by then, just covering songs from well-known poppunk bands like Blink 182, Greenday, Offspring and some local bands like Jellybelly, Carburetor Dung, ACAB, Butterfingers, etc. Early 2004, Bulloh left the band with some personal excuses and drum position was replaced by Taki, Apis's old friend. Afik also followed his footsteps when he got offered to study away from other members. From that point onwards, the remaining members (Apis, Rizie, Shoqi, Taki) don't look back again. With the spirit injected by the band members, they woke up from their sleep and compose their own tunes. By 2005, they managed to compose about 6 own songs. But sadly, until today, they only managed to record 2 songs ("Overdose" and "My Dream Lover is a Punk Hater") at Moshpit Studio. Unfortunately for them, one of the tracks recorded, was accidently been deleted by the sound engineer at the studio. So, now they have one song recorded (can be listened at Myspace) that will be featured in a compilation CD planned by some friends at Gegey Music, DNA records and Nervous Rechords and Brainwash records. Before recording, they faced lotsa problems such as no place to record, hard to gather for recording sessions and shows, lack of confidence, and million other problems. After being invited to join the comp. project, they determined to record by hook or by crook. They recorded those two songs in one day during the Raya Haji holiday without even balik kampung just for the sake of recording. Their near-future plan is to record an ep as soon as possible to spread their thaughts and soundings to the rest of the nation. Their bonds of friendship towards each other is strong and gave them spirit to keep on being active in the local punk rock scene.
