The New Puritans .: Click To Enter :. The New Puritans was formed in 2001 initially under the basic understanding of 3 persons (Ayut on Guitar, Fariz on Bass and Nazri on Programming) wanting to weave through contemporary ultra-pop wielding whores with our own kitsch, funk and swagger. With the help of YOUR exaggeration of our talents, and our never ending pursuit of discovering new things to get off on. We would like to hope that one day our music would spark off some kind of new age movement that will eventually break the human-race from the stranglehold of corporate evil-doers around the world. In view of such grand ideals, TNP had decided to sound shamelessly like The Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode & Radiohead although if you ask, we would only claim them as our influences. After recording our first song (Sleepless), the band undertook a long hiatus of what band member Nazri describe as a "journey to overcome a creative hump with a mesin rumput that engine's runs on a 9 volt battery". The 'journey' as he puts it had been kind at least to Ayut who since have settled down and tied the knot. With Fariz and Nazri relocated to KL for work, time was hard for the band as commitments were running high and music have to take a backseat. But now with three exciting new recruits of Kip,Jas (future primitive) and Alun (endless pain) WE are picking up where we left off. A soon to be released EP is on its way that will feature a kaleidoscopic assault of rocking beats, dreamy space effects and jangly guitar tunes. Your winamp playlist will never be so relevant. And so does your rewind button should you decide to put us on tape. So go ahead, download our mp3 and allow us to overwhelm you. |
