hmm maksud idea ko tu...cth..kalo aku ada terkorek band yg aku rasa best (dan juga yg tak best...tp walopon tak best tapi ada potential...)...n tak kira la band tu genre apa skalipon...janji made in malaysia...so aku leh letak dalam glossary bands thread tu? n x semestinya band sendiri kan?
pastu...
n add some bio, genre, line up...etc2 about the bands...finish it with some link?
mcm tu ke?
n open utk sesiapa saje utk share band yg dorang tau?

Jiro, aku bukan kata kena buat cd. aku just kata anggapla mcm ko nak cd ko ada kat semua kedai cd, begitu jugak dgn digital distribution thru website2 mcm myspace, facebook, purevolume..etc.. even though ada banyak website, jgn neglect. Ni pendapat aku tentang gaining wider exposure.
offcourse letak saja tanpa di promote, tak berkesan gak.
kena rancang le jugak.
and kena muka tebal beb

owhhh sorry salah faham hahaha.. tapi at least walau pun tersalah faham but i got different positive out of view juga  heheh
betul tuh...kene tebal muka..but actually la kan...kerja tebal muka nih yg best...adventure hehehe~ |

jap jap... aku terbaca post sape tadi tah..
pasal compilation cd...
i think that's not a bad idea la....
ok let's say, satu band dah cukup 10 lagu nak press cd...
tapi problem dia nak wat pro-printed tu mmg mahal la...
around rm2000+ kot.... so kalau satu band ade 5 line-up...
sorang kena invest RM400... quite expensive jugak la...
sbb tgk gak background line-up mcm mana,
ade yg student, tak bekerja, etc...
so kalau wat compilation cd, each band bleh contribute cash...
lets's say 10 - 15 bands involve in this project...
wahh kita sudah jimat banyakk!
nak lagi best, kita appoint budak2 i-bands jadi recording / mixing engineer...
baru la jadi i-bands compilation!
then buat tour i-bands satu mesia, promote cd tu...
baru la betul gig "kroni"
just an idea je la...

kalau nak buat, record lagu baru will be better.
last time dah plan. MP3 CD Compilation. dah received banyak gila submissions. Master CD tu aku pasang..dari JB ke KL pun tak abis main.
problem time tu is financial utk printing (apa lagi, mmg itu ler hakikat). and another problem is recycle music. semua lagu2 tu available for free on i-bands and other sites mcm myspace and all. so mcm no point nak buat.
so if want to do this, new songs, and yeah, mixing and mastering should be done by i-banders.
but adat resam compilation ni, masalahnye part duit untung tu. kalau cd 10 hengget, ada 10 band, 1 band singgit. korang ok ke? tu kalau terjual, kalau tak terjual.. akan kecoh ke? korang view this project as more towards promotional campaign or avenue utk dapat duit? the later will cause issues if not properly discussed.
title cd ni kena catchy.
aku suggest title "kompilasi poser dan kroni masa kini..Oraiidaaahh"

eh jeep, kalau betul nak buat, mmg ok tu...
tapi jgn la buat mp3... gile banyak band yg nak masuk!
cukup utk 10 - 15 bands ok la..
buat cd audio... pro-printed booklet with band details etc...
pastu tentang lagu rekod semula / lagu baru tu mmg aku setuju!
baru la seragam dia punya kualiti....
ala kalau band tu betul2 serius nak berkarya,
setakat nak produce lagu baru mesti no problem punya lah!
then, kena la buat contract utk each participating bands...
things yg berkaitan dgn royalti, copyrights, ape ke lancau tu semua..
objektif bagi band aku is to get more audience,
so aku tak heran sgt pasal royalti... tapi kalau ade, kena la hulur
(kes makan sorang senyap2 yg buat org hangin)
aku tak tau la pasal band lain mcm mana...
aku punya band pernah press 1000 copies of CD...
mmg confirm tak leh nak abis jual dlm masa terdekat ni...
tapi yg penting bagi aku is the image of the product...
menunjukkan how serious your band is...
nak citer part keuntungan???
hish... buat masa ni, nak cover modal print cd pon jauh lagi...
tak payah la nak sibuk2 citer pasal how to split the profit...
just assume this compilation CD is like amal jariah...
just contribute 1 song aje....
kalau lagu meletup, band ko jugak yg femes...
kalau hampeh, cuma rugi masa + tenaga je la...

tapi aku rasa keuntungan CD tak payah bahagi... better invest back to the marketing & events for the compilation. buat gig ker, makan2 ker.. beberapa persen tu masuk la poket orang yang penat lelah manage & buat marketing tu... band cuma makan atas royalti atau lain2 keuntungan je...
