aku nak try pakai rack FX plak... aku tgk pun mcm best... hehe!! sound aku rase better dari yg biase as long aku tgk gitaris profesional pun pakai rack... kalau tak silap aku pakai midi foot controller nak kontrol sume tuh kan... any info @ suggestion??? hehe!!!

Since aku dah happy dgn my set-up, aku dah lama tak keep up to date dgn alat2 yg ada sekarang.
Actually, rack effects can be as simple or complicated as the owner wants. The simplest rack effects can just comprise only a single unit of combination pre-amp and multi effects....and on the other end it can comprise a few amp heads, independent effects modules, power amps and cabinets which could be switched in any combination by using a foot switcher or a midi foot controller. You might also have a few midi continuous controllers which can be assigned to any parameter like volume, wah, delay time or anything that you want.
The most important thing to remember is that, a rack system doesn't always sound better than plugging straight into the amp, but it lets the guitarist have many sounds that he can choose with just a step on the controller.
As for me, my setup is very simple, my signal goes into Peavey Pro-fex pre-amp/effects, then into Alesis Midiverb 3 for reverb. From there it goes out in stereo into 2 Laney 50 amps. My foot controller gives me midi patch changes with 2 continuous controllers giving me volume and one assigned to anything else.
I programmed 60 sounds to cover as many guitar sounds from the 50's to the present day, from Hank Marvin, Clapton,Tony Iommi, George Benson, Gary Moore to Satriani and Vai and etc. etc. And I duplicated another 60 sounds for use through the speaker simulator to use in studios where the producer prefers not to mike up amps.
Like I said, this setup doesnt necessarily sound better than playing with just one amp, but it is versatile. It serves well if you need to play sessions. But if I'm playing a rock gig, I only need 2 or 3 great sounds which I can easily get from a single amp.
Sham Kamikaze, who is Malaysia's busiest and most hired sessionist has got a more elaborate rack system which consists of ADA, Digitech, ART and many other units, which serves him well for sessions. But sometimes, when he's playing a gig, he may just use his Carvin Legacy head through his Rivera 4x12 cabinet.
A rack system is not just about what is in there, but also how all the units are connected together to serve the guitarist. My system is totally specific to my needs, and that applies to other system and their owners as well.
The right way to build and connect a rack system is the way that you want it that makes you happy. There are some general rules that should be obeyed, but there are some rules that can be modified.

Oh ya...check out the Roland GP 100 dan unit2 lain yg sewaktu dengannya...very versatile.
Aku setuju dgn deadzid, ADA makes some cool stuff!
Ingat...kalau nak cari sound, penting kena kendalikan one module/effect at a time...pahamkan betul2 apa yg satu effect tu boleh buat dulu sebelum melangkah ke dunia yg lebih luas dan penuh nikmat....he he he... |

Walaupun Gary Moore pernah sampai cuma pakai practice amp 12 watt Marshall untuk recording album dia,... kalau aku main dalam bilik jer,aku masih nakkan rack system!!! he he he...  |

hello boys! how's it going? All u old fellas? Still rocking? Crazy...
Man i didn't know this place.. why put under 'community'?? i thought the forum was gone for some time??
ok too many new posts to read now!! 
anyway sorry to interrupt eh. racks are cool, problem is= hard to get good units here. But if i may add a bit, one major advantage is so that you don't have to tweak on the fly, e.g. record dry, then sit back and add effects while you monitor your playback.

deadzid.. aku dah sambar pun 5 efx ridzi... but still aku prefer dod buzz box aku yg dah rosak dari boss mt-2... da mt2 sound too rough n common!!! hehe!!! unluckily dod kuarkan efx tuh limited... so skang dah out of stock.. waaaa!!!! ape yg aku plan skang nih aku nak sambar behringer v-amp pro, midi foot controller ngan graphic EQ... hehe!!! now setup aku:

sometimes aku jugak pakai korg ax1500g aku pasal aku lagi prefer 1 of distortion die... kalau tak silap aku name 'seattle' ...
but then aku ade satu teori.. aku tak sure this thing happen kat korang ke tak... bagi aku la.. aku lagi semangat nak praktis/main gitar bile aku tgk gear aku yg mcm2 ... aku still ingat lagi mase aku pakai guitar first aku 'TGM' dengan amplifier johnson 15watt.. nak main pun lemah skit... dengan guitar slalu lari tune.. dah lah mase tuh menatang haram scale pun tak tau... dengan bunyi guitar lagi mcm tuh... hahahaha!!!!

aku dah tak semangat nak main gitar pasal malas nak keluarkan gadget + cables + adapter dari kotak, and then nak kena plug-in + setup, pastu main kejap je, anak buah aku dah kacau... kena simpan balik...
lagi pun sekarang nih dah ada anak... gentel anak lagi best dari gentel gitar! hahahaha.... lagi satu, bini aku cakap, kalau nak gi jamming kena tunggu dia habis pantang dulu! hahaha
